but something like this should work https
This is a review for the 1200 lbs lock. So I bought this lock a week ago, when it got here, it took me about 8 hours to install (I had no experience what-so-ever with this before so I had to run back and forth to the store to get cable and drill bits). With it I bought a power supply of 12V 500mA. I was lucky that the power supply was the exact match that the instruction booklet specifies. You must buy the power supply, it does not come with it. This is the one I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VRL632/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (I just saved you the trouble of it (: you're welcome). I also bought this exit button to open it from the inside https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051BUGCA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . This exit button has a green LED that requires12V to light up (it did not came with it) The lock did came with the mounting bracket that was compatible with my door, but you might need to buy one that is compatible with yours. (Just buy it as is, if you find out it isn't compatible then buy the bracket separately. They usually go by the name of "Z Bracket for magnetic locking mechanism".The reason I bought this lock was because I own a gym, and I want to provide my members with a 24 hr access. I do want to mention that you also need to buy a device that will unlock the magnetic lock (besides that exit button). My member management software came with one so i did not have to buy one,but something like this should work https://www.amazon.com/Docooler-Entry-Access-Control-System/dp/B00LQ7SGXO/ref=pd_sim_sbs_421_27?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=182KQWAMTKBQE517YT90 .First, I would like to say that (with proper installation, if i may say so myself) the lock hold VERY WELL. I'm using 12V at 500mA and OI really can't pry it open. I tried using force, tools, and other means to pry it open only to fail to forcibly open it again and again. The quality is a lot better than many of the other locks that I seen online prior to this one, and for the force that it holds it was really a good deal (in my opinion ofcourse). The seller specifies that you should use a 1A power supply, but the specifications say 500mA, and that worked just fine with me (less electricity cost too). You also have to determine if this lock is what you need. Remember, if there is a power outage, the lock will open! If this is a security risk for your needs thenI would recommend getting another type of lock, or installing an emergency powers supply for when that happens (something like a battery). Overall I personally am very happy with this lock. I added some photos of the installation and the specifications for the power supply.I hope this helps! If you have questions you can ask me at [email protected]

excellent and better than the competition
The strength of the magnet is stronger than most doors and hinges so basically an intruder would need to break through the door and the lock would still be in place! This is a good bare feature price; you can pay extra for their other model with extra features like LED status light, access buttons and panels, power supply and feedback on door open/close status.Just remember that this model does not come with a power supply. This lock is great for its flexibility; it will close easily, regardless of the magnet's alignments-so it works perfectly with uneven doors and frames.Lastly, the outer casing has excellent hard tamperproof metal security as well as moisture/rust proofing.

Definitely securely locks the door so that an intruder would have to break the door to get in, but another hole was needed
I'm using this as a lock for my front door. Instead of buying a kit, I bought individual pieces because the kit didn't have what I needed, like the Z bracket and a fingerprint reader, but did have stuff I didn't need like cheap power adapters and wireless entry.I managed to get a perfect alignment of the armature plate mounted to the Z-bracket and this magnet mounted to the trim above my door. I first removed the trim, added extra wood behind the trim, and used many long nails to secure the trim so it wouldn't come off if somebody tried to force their way in. The magnet goes on the trim above the door, and the Z-Bracket goes on the door, but needs to be mounted level with the trim, so I added another piece of wood to my door as well to bring the mounting position of the Z-bracket level with the magnet. By getting it all aligned properly, there's no way anyone would force their way in without breaking the door. This magnet holds the armature in place with far more force than my door could handle. The only reason I'm docking it a star is that I had to drill a hole in the magnet casing to allow the wires to come through the trim into the magnet without exposing the wires. The provided hole is for mounting the magnet under the door trim instead of on it. That only works if the door opens outwards from the side the magnet is on. My front door is like every house door I've ever seen, and opens inwards, and of course the magnet needs to be on the inside. They could have easily provided another hole for mounting to doors that open inwards without exposing wires to tampering.

Seco-Larm Electromagnetic Lock....... It Works!!
I purchase this lock as a secure lock for a hidden door walk in closet where i choose to hide my valuables. I chose magnetic lock for the low profile look (no obvious sign to see like a knob or keyhole the will defeat the purpose of being a "hidden door"), Locking power, and no moving parts so its quiet and no parts to lubricate or break down. My setup is quite simple the lock, an old a/c adapter from my sirus radio, and a Christmas light remote to turn it on or off. I also plan on plugging the a/c adapter to my old UPS so that the lock would remain secure for at least 3 hours in a power failure. Now for my Pros and ConsPros:Relative easy to install. All you need is a good drill and you can get this up in no timeHolding Power. My door would give way first before I could separate the plates, it really is held in there.Quiet Operation. You can engage and disengage the lock without anybody noticing you did.Cons:I did say relatively easy to install but you still need basic skills as installing this you do need basic electrical and wood working skills. You need to properly align the base plate with the magnet for it to hold tight, any misalignment of the plates will result in less than satisfactory result. The unit would run warm (which is actually good in cold weather to prevent lock from freezing up) and would consume around 5W of electricity to operateAll in all a great buy for me and if in your application you think this kind of lock is best for you its money well spent.
