Great product for the price
I have been using this case for a couple of days now. It definitely does what it's supposed to. Feels and looks sturdy, and the stands on the bottom make for a great angle for typing and navigating. I can't say that it's great drop protection, then again if you're dropping your computer maybe you should reconsider even having one. Aside from that, this case does show finger prints pretty easily, but I don't mind that at all. Overall-great product; I would recommend buying at this price point.

Good Purchase
At first glance this appeared to be a less than sturdy cover. However, upon use, it is actually a very good case. Definitely worth the money

Four Stars
Occasionally top cover pops off, and it is a little heavy and weighs down the screen.

One of the only hard cases that seems designed not to crack at the corners, but may damage computer hinge--costly repair
I bought a clear hard case here on Amazon for the 12-inch Macbook. The hard case cracked at the corners within a few days of being put on the machine. I purchased another hard case, but the same thing happened within the first week. Like most people, I take good care of my machine, so concluded the consistently cracking edges of the cases resulted from an engineering failure of the cases. In reviews left on Amazon for lots of hard cases, I read others' similar experiences.I bought this case because it has reinforced plastic edges and corners. I've been using the case for about a week, and so far there are no signs of cracking, splintering corners. I don't expect any, either, because the plastic around the edges of the case is quite thick. Another pro to this case is the feet/raisers engineered into the underside. These raise the computer to a comfortable typing orientation and angle the screen better for presentations before small groups. But that's where the pros come to an end for me.One challenge with the case is how easily the frosted plastic top collects fingerprints and smudges. I'm very surprised since I thought the frosted plastic would resist fingerprints. And these aren't easy to remove--even with a slightly damp microfiber cloth... Another challenge I didn't expect is the bulk the case adds to the Macbook. I purchased the Macbook specifically for its levity and thinness relative to competing PC products. But this case adds appreciable weight and thickness to the Macbook so that the Macbook no longer fits in the felt case it used to fit in with the other thin but friable hard cases. At least as frustrating, the CaseRack 12-inch Macbook case is just ugly. Cheap, thick plastic edges encircle the Macbook as if someone had melted a $1.99 frisbee and smeared the gobs of plastic around the machine's edges. And the frosted plastic top, beyond accumulating grime from fingerprints easily, resembles those hideous plastic faceplates that box in wall panel lights in uber-budget hotels you'd stay at when traveling with your school athletics team. And the feel is as tacky as the final product is gaudy.I deliberated for weeks over a third replacement hard case for my machine. All the other candidates had enough negative reviews highlighting how easily the corners and edges cracked that, after two such experiences in as many weeks, I wasn't interested in buying any of them. I think this plastic mausoleum will keep my Macbook safe, but all the external grace of the machine is now obscured by one of the ugliest, bulkiest cases sold on Amazon. I'm not sure I think the trade off is worth it. I'll periodically revisit Amazon and other electronics sites to see if someone develops a protective case that's durable and effective but which complements the svelte engineering of the Macbook.***********UPDATE 13 Dec 16*************Over the past week as I've used my Macbook in the field, I'd begun noticing the screen would collapse onto the computer (close) or fall backwards to maximum distention easily. I thought it was a fluke, but then it started happening more and more frequently--on a machine less than a month old. So I contacted Apple. It turns out that the weight of these bulkier hard covers may be too much for the computer's hinge. I have an appointment to have my machine looked at via Apple specialists but am now concerned that I may have damaged the screen's hinge inadvertently with a too cumbersome cover. I'll update either way if I learn anything more.************UPDATE 15 December 2016****************In just a couple of weeks using this case, it has compromised the hinges of my brand new Macbook. The screen will often slam shut dangerously in the middle of my using the computer. And if the screen is open greater than 90-degrees, it will often fall back to the full-open position. I contacted Apple, and they made a Genius Bar appointment for me tonight. I just got back, and the Apple team determined that this case is too heavy for the Macbook. If my machine weren't still under warranty, the cost to me would be nearly $500 to fix. Let that sink in... As it is, it'll cost me a week without my machine over the holidays to have Apple repair it.Apple suggests Incase or another (more expensive) brand they carry--so either $49 or $99 for the case. This would be the FIFTH protective hard case I've tried for the Macbook. The light ones crack too easily at the corners, and the heavy ones can compromise the delicate but vital hinge. Apple admits that the plastics currently on the market for these cases are largely unsatisfactory. I don't think a case is worth the potential hassle and expense incurred by a damaged computer. Buyer beware. After
