They are confused. A 2.12 ounce packet for $19.99 makes it $9.43 per ounce, not $19.99 an ounce. If they change that, then maybe people would freak out less. This price is not out of the norm for matcha. However, there are various price points, so you look around and decide what is best for your budget. That being said,All matcha powder tastes the same to me. It is one of the few things that I tend to buy based on price. I have purchased super cheap, and wildly expensive (because I can, and because I am curious), and it really comes down to what you need it for. Using it in smoothies, lattes, or other mixed ingredient drinks or foods? Then totally go for the cheap stuff. Using it as "ceremonial" tea, well then the nuances in flavor may be enough to warrant a more indulgent purchase. But even then, it may not matter.This matcha is fine. It doesn't stand out above or below most I have tried. I think it is good. I like it in hot lattes, so for that I say it is more mild, smooth, and naturally sweet compared to some. I can even MIX IT WITH COFFEE and it still tastes good.. But really one must have discerning taste buds to really know and appreciate the difference. Or know and dislike the difference LOLI do find that the benefit of matcha and how it makes me feel is something no price tag can compete with. I love the low key steady energy, the reduced cravings for all foods (especially sweets), the antioxidant load, and the reasonable price for such a multi tasking food product (no matter how pricey, it is still offering a lot of benefit for low amount).The small packet size is nice for travel, for keeping at work, for adding to a food/drink themed gift, or for simply trying it.My 4.5 stars (well, 5 star) rating is based on my perception of its quality in comparison to the dozens of brands I have tried over the years. I buy matcha frequently, and I find no issue with this. How good or bad it is is totally subjective. I may like it, you may not. I dont rate on price, but I have made my comment regarding that it is within a moderate price range. My packet did not come with an incentive for a free bag. Should I down rate because of that? LOL

I have fallen in love with matcha tea latte’s!! This product has a great taste and is right on par with the tea I used while in Okinawa, Japan. I was expecting just a little more product but found it had a lower price than other comparable brands and the flavor was even a little more rich than another organic Japanese brand I tried. I will definitely be getting this again in the future as long as the price stays about the same.

I used this for my matcha lattes every morning. I put a little vanilla in it, it’s perfect!

I purchased this matcha based on positive reviews. Very disappointed because it is a low quality culinary grade matcha. Not looks or taste good. I believe people leave positive reviews because company offers a free bag for a 5 star review and this is unacceptable.

I love green tea, but Matcha Latte is just that-- an incredible latte even better than Starbucks, without all the sugar. I tried several milks and recommend using Oak milk. Wonderful 😊
