Back to Bed, Ed!

Back to Bed!
My son has struggled with staying in bed, just like Ed! He loves this story and it’s been a great tool to help him stay in bed. For sure other measures are needed, but this is a great part of the plan. Adorable story, cute illustrations.

Amazing illustrations and cute story
Our 3 yr old has been coming into our bed for over a year and I refused to do the cry it out method and keep dragging her back to her room. I just wanted to sleep! I got 4 books out from the library and this one hit home for her. A little over a week and reading it alot, she started staying in her own bed with her stuffed animals. Love the illustrations and it helped that Ed had a baby sibling because we do too!

great bedtime book
This book is so sweet and the illustrations are so fun! It's longer than our 17 month old is used to (we read several board books at night before bed, each is about the length of good night moon) but she sits through it all and loves the illustrations as much as my husband and I do (especially the one where Ed's parents can't get any sleep because Ed is hogging their bed). This book has both mom and dad taking part in bedtime (and in putting Ed back to bed), which is a nice departure from many children's books that just portray mom as care-giver. Once our toddler is in a bed rather than the crib, this book will hopefully teach her an important lesson about staying in her own bed, just like Ed.

Back to Bed Ed! A bedtime rescue for parents!
My boys, 4 and 2, love this book and it has become a common saying in our home.Bedtime can be difficult because they love to rough-house. This can be difficult to control when it's bedtime, and it is time to settle down. There are many occurrences where the following occurs:Son 1 has to go potty. Son 2 has to go potty too.Son 1 needs water. Son 2 needs water too.Son 1 spilled said water. Son 1 sends son 2 to get a towel from mommy and daddy.Son 1 and son 2 suddenly need to switch beds 133 times before staying in bed. Now, when they come out with a sly-smirk, we just say "Back to Bed, Ed!" and their little feet go running. It has made bedtime routine that much more fun for them, and they look forward to reading this cute story about the difficulties of bedtime for many tired parents. If you feel like this was a helpful review, please press the "Helpful" button below to help other parents in need of some sleep.

Grandson loves Back to Bed, Ed
My almost 3 1/2 yr old grandson loves this book and has included it in his nightly books to be read to him. He has had the book for 4 week now and has not missed a night of having it read to him. I got the book because of the similarity between Ed and my grandson not staying in bed. The book also engages my grandson in conversation. Ed goes to bed with all his friends and now Josh does too.

Ed is kind of a bad example
This book is written for the child who keeps migrating to Mom and Dad's bed, not for the kids who just keeps popping out of her own bed, wanting to be up. In that way, it didn't suit my needs, but that's not a big deal. I just change the words a bit and it's fine.My biggest beef with this book is that Ed is told by his dad repeatedly that he needs to stay in bed and he's constantly ignoring that directive. When he finally does stay in bed, it isn't until after sneaking out (right after being told to stay in bed) and getting all of his stuffed toys. The disobedience that seems to be encouraged in that part of the book in particular really irks me. A book meant to encourage kids to stay in bed should set a good example and I feel like this one had failed too do that.

They love reading it night after night after night and when ...
I have two sons age 5 and 3 who still want to come get in the bed with my wife and I but this book has helped out a lot. They love reading it night after night after night and when they want to come get in the bed with us we simply say "Back To Bed Ed" and they understand and turn around and go back to bed......at least for a while....lolThis is a very good book!

Its a nice little story but I dont think the 'monsters' were helpful as my son tried to use that as an excuse the first night we read it. It didnt help with sleep much but he did enjoy pretending to be Ed and called us mummy mouse for a while.

Is actually helpful when transitioning out of a crib!
Such a cute story. I also sent it to my sister who was having trouble with a 2.5 yr old transitioning to a big bed. Worked like a charm!
