CompuLab IPC2 i7 Win7

Did someone say 5-yr warranty? Responsive, quiet and far exceeds my current meager needs. So impressed by this, I'm considering Compulab server. Goodbye fans. The only thing that beats this in my opinion is a remote server farm running on renewable fuel.

Great small computer. Updates to Win 10 perfectly. Easy Hard Drive changing and take SSDs.

Everything is as expected

This computer is expensive.Considering you have to still buy ram and a hdd before being able to use it (not to mention a monitor, keyboard+mouse)you can easily jump up to over a grand.However, this is a good example of you get what you pay for.This thing is tiny, and exceptionally solid. It's encased in die-cast aluminium, which doubly acts as a one big heat-sink. The inside is designed with usability in mind, installing the storage device and ram took less then 10 minutes (there's a dedicated "service port")As for power usage, its specs say it idles at 6W and goes up to 24W. Considering a standard desktop idles at 30-40W to 100+ (I'm lowballing, some will go 200+), this is impressive. It'll save you in electricity bills, especially if you plan to be running 24/7.It has a huge amount of connections permitting multiple hi res. displays, usage as a router (2 lan ports), bluetooth, wifi, cellular (sim card).Consider their warranty as well. A normal desktop comes with a 1 year limited warranty..This comes with a 5 year warranty!It comes down to this:If next year you will probably forking your money over for the next new thing, I suggest you don't buy this. There's nothing super "fancy" about it.However if you want a computer to sit on 24/7 in a dusty corner to just keep working forever for years while being efficient at it.. this is a good way to go. Consider it a investment.I greatly suggest installing Linux Mint 17 (supported till 2019). However if you're unable to break the M$ chain, expect to pay another $120.Edit:Some metering usageIdle (monitor attached) - 8WSuspended - 2.5W2 movies, 2 video games ( Braid + Race the Sun) simultaneously - 30W(No lag. I could easily switch between both games without issue in LM)

Entschuldigung für die mangelnde Qualität in der deutschen Version, aber ich bin Englisch und meine zweite Sprache ist Französisch.CompuLab IPC2 i5 Barebones. Das war gut verpackt und kamen in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Ich öffnete eine Schraube, hob die "Falltür" und ausgestattet 2x8MB von Hynix DDR3L 1.3v 1600MHz RAM und einen Samsung 850 Evo 256 SSD. Nach dem Anschluss meiner Tastatur, Maus, HDMI-Monitor, und Macht, die ich Linux Mint Rebecca 17,1 Cinnamon Edition installiert von einem separaten Live DVD. Perfection - alles funktionierte einfach - in SILENCE - BLISS.Ich habe es nur ein paar Tage, aber es hat einwandfrei funktioniert - und zwar schnell. Dies ist ein komplett lüfterlose PC in einem kleinen, schwer für seine Größe, Aluminiumlamellen Fall (dies wirkt auch einem riesigen Kühlkörper - es wird leicht warm im Einsatz, aber nicht annähernd heiß), und es ist im Einsatz absolut geräuschlos. Der Stromverbrauch liegt im Bereich von 6 bis 25 Watt !! Phänomenal. Stille und billiger zu laufen.Die IPC2 ist sehr gut verarbeitet, schön fertig und hat viele Anschlussmöglichkeiten - darunter 4 USB3 USB2 + 2 + 2 + 2 HDMI Netzwerk, RS232 etc. Das in Dual-Band Wireless-gebaut hat 2 Antennen und bietet ein stärkeres Signal als das mobile auf meinem Samsung SF10 Laptop, sitzt nun näher an den Wireless-Router. Ich denke, die ich erwähnt habe, dass alles in der Stille - überhaupt keine Computer-Fans und durch die Verwendung eines SSD nicht nur bekomme ich zusätzliche Geschwindigkeit, aber nicht einmal das leichte Rauschen würde ich von einer traditionellen Festplatte Surren um von Zeit zu Zeit zu bekommen.Nach Jahrzehnten der Reizung ist es wirklich Glückseligkeit in der Lage sein, ohne einen konstanten niedrigen Niveau Art von "Buzz" / "Surren" in meinen Ohren zu arbeiten. Glauben Sie mir, sobald Sie es erleben werden Sie fragen, wie Sie mit dem Lärm in all den Jahren verwaltet.Es sieht gut aus für die Zukunft - und sie mit 5 Jahren Garantie. Wenn Sie nicht entdeckt die Freuden der Linux Mint, und sind entschlossen, Microsoft, kann Windows 7 statt installiert werden oder auch zusammen mit der, Linux Mint wenn Sie es wünschen - oder kaufen ein nicht-Barebones Version mit W7 und / oder Linux Mint fertig installiert - oder sogar die i7-Version.Ich freue mich, mit meinem Kauf. I undid one screw, lifted out the 'trapdoor' and fitted 2x8MB of Hynix DDR3L 1.3v 1600MHz ram and a Samsung 850 Evo 256MB SSD. After connecting my keyboard, mouse, HDMI monitor, and power I installed Linux Mint Rebecca 17.1 Cinnamon Edition from a separate Live DVD. Perfection - everything just worked - in SILENCE - BLISS.I've only had it a few days but it has worked flawlessly - and fast. This is a COMPLETELY FANLESS PC inside a small, heavy for it's size, aluminium finned case (this acts well as a giant heatsink - it gets slightly warm in use, but not anywhere near hot) and it is absolutely silent in use. The power use is in the range of 6-25 watts!! Phenomenal. Silent and cheaper to run.The IPC2 is very well made, beautifully finished, and has lots of connection options - including 4 USB3 + 2 USB2 + 2 HDMI + 2 Network, RS232 etc. The built in dual band Wireless has 2 aerials and provides a stronger signal than the wireless on my Samsung SF10 laptop that now sits nearer the wireless router. I think I have mentioned that everything works in silence - no computer fans at all and by using an SSD not only do I get extra speed but not even the slight noise I would get from a traditional HDD whirring around from time to time.After decades of irritation it really is bliss to be able to work without a constant low level sort of 'buzz' / 'whirr' in my ears. Believe me once you experience it you will wonder just how you managed with the noise all those years.It looks good for the future - and they come with a 5 year guarantee. If you have not discovered the joys of Linux Mint, and are determined to use MicroSoft, Windows 7 can be installed instead of, or even alongside of, Linux Mint if you wish - or buy a non-Barebones version with W7 and/or Linux Mint ready installed - or even the i7 version.I am delighted with my purchase.
