It's better to do less and do it well
My choice for the past 10+ years for my quantitative research methods class in sociology. Concise, to the point, not ridonculously expensive, and most importantly, does not attempt to do too much. It's better to do less and do it well, than skim the surface of ALL THE THINGS and have students not remember anything. I care not for this novelty of test questions--students do not learn research without doing their own, and when they do their own, they have no time for taking tests. Plus, bad learning. They will have forgotten that poop within weeks, whereas they will not forget the research they attempted to carry out on their own. I will keep using this for the foreseeable future, although I'm not sure the new editions are really necessary. A mean is a mean, was a mean 50 years ago, and will be a mean 50 years from now. That doesn't change. I'm not swayed by updated examples. I allow my students to use ANY edition and encourage them to use the cheapest one they can find.

Excellent book
I can only make postive remarks about this book. I have used it to prepare some classes on research methods and I have found it very, very clear. It is the main textbook of the course indeed. Many thanks Professor Nardi.
