I own both Pro & regular RK84 keyboards. The aluminum case is worth the upgrade over the regular RK84. I like the compact size & layout since I don't need a 10 key but absolutely need the dedicated function keys.Specifically chose Royal Kludge for the price & features.Wireless capability: This is a must for me & having the ability to connect Bluetooth to 3 devices is huge plus. 2.4GHz connection is a bonus though I personally have not used it. The 2.4GHz receiver is in the USB-C cable bagAs much as I would like to spend upwards of $200 on aluminum case keyboards, they are wired only. Keep in mind the software requires the keyboard to be connect via USB-C cable. Can cycle through different light modes & manipulate speed by pressing a combination of keys.Switches: I intentionally ordered the super annoying blue clicky switches since I was replacing them anyway. It was the cheaper option. I am currently using Outemu silent whites (lubed)Stabilizers: Plate mount, not horrible but the spacebar wire needed some adjustments. Just place it on a flat surface & bend till it lays flat. Performed the typical mods (clipped, bandaid & lube)PCB board: 5 pin hotswap which makes it easy to use any switch. Unfortunately, the newer stock of Pros no longer come with sound dampening material, but RK will be looking into including it again in the future. (2 layers of Blue painting tape)Keycaps: Slightly on the thinner side but are doubleshot & backlit. I replaced mine with PBT OEM profile backlit keycaps. I also have PBT Cherry profile Mizu replica caps. When purchasing keycaps, make sure it will work with the 75% (84 key) layout. The right SHIFT key (1.75u size) & 3 keys (1u size) to the right of the spacebar are not typical sizes.Battery: Surprisingly lasts longer than expected but YMMV. I always turn of the BT connection when not in use & don't have lighting at full brightness nor is it always on.Software: Requires USB connection to upgrade the firmware & apply macros or set RGB lighting options. No issues with it whatsoever. Make sure to download the correct software!Overall: I absolutely recommended this keyboard. It is well engineered & placed at a very reasonable\competitive price! The RK brown switches look identical to the Gateron Browns but have a slightly different sound profile. I recently got a pack of Gateron Browns and you can't tell the difference outside of side by side comparison.Build Quality: GreatAluminum bodies usually go for half the cost of this entire board. The PCB is high quality. I do wish the LEDs were slightly brighter as I have some keycaps that don't light up quite how I would like them to but for the price I cannot complain and it's more a design the keycap than a fault with the keyboard.Connection: USB/2.4gz/5.0 BTI have had zero issues with this keyboard. I normally use it wired but I've gamed on it both on the 2.4gz and 5.0 BT and had no issues with either in games like Apex Legends, World of Warcraft, The Finals. It does appear to scan in zones left to right. I only figured that out when I was attempting to learn Super Glides in Apex Legends and realized that C and Space Bar were different scan zones. Outside of REALLY niche use cases this will not be a problem for anyone. I'm just putting it here as it was something I noticed. Outside of keyboards like the Wooting 60HE though ALL keyboards act in a similar way.Things I wish this keyboard had but dont:- Foam insert between plate and PCB- Foam insert between the PCB and the caseThe keyboard sounds very hallow but honestly both are an easy fix. This is a fantastic keyboard to try mods on as it's so affordable. I recommend the PE Foam Mod and Painter's Tape Mod. Both are super cheap and easy to do and make a world of difference.

This was my first keyboard and an entry into the semi custom world of keyboard. I wanted something that was easy to mod and study. I like the aluminum case, the basic switches were fine (even though i swapped them out for pre-lubed gateron Yellows v3). Easy to take apart and has a decent battery life. I would only buy this when it's on sale for 60/70 bucks. The 2.4ghz dongle often looses signal and the dongle is maybe 2 /3 feet away. When i bought it there weren't many budget options around but now days, i would look at some of the other companies' offerings that come with better switches and better stock sound out of the box.

The whole body is made of metal so it heavy which i like the keys are also very clicky

El RGB es muy bonito, y se nota en cualquier ambiente, las teclas son un poco delgadas y hacen un sonido un poco hueco pero en general me parecen bien, el teclado es pesado por el material del case de aluminio así que considera lo en tu compra. la verdad el tamaño y el diseño me gustaron bastante, se pueden hacer mods a tu gusto pues es hot swap.

I don't really write reviews, but it feels wrong that this keyboard doesn't have 5 stars. For the price, the keyboard is BEYOND good. Overall an amazing intro keyboard.CASE: I bought this instead of the regular RK84 because of the case...and it was so worth it. The aluminum case adds some weight and makes the keyboard feel premium. The RK symbol is on the back so it doesn't look ugly. And the silvery color and finish just looks so shiny and shimmery clean! Compared to the Gmmk pro or the q1 or even the tofu, this keyboard is reasonably priced considering the aluminum case.SWITCHES: Though these switches aren't super well known, they're pretty decent (as far as blue switches can be decent). Honestly this almost made me like clicky switches because of how satisfying it is to feel/hear the click... But I love my linears so I switched them to gateron yellows. You should definitely change the stock ones if you want to get into modding though.KEYCAPS: good for fans of simple, white & minimal aesthetics. If you look close enough, you'll notice that some of the legends aren't sharp and crisp--but again, for the money you save, you could probably get better keycaps anyway.KEYBOARD FEET: I'd prefer it if they were built in. I'm not a fan of magnetic feet since I tend to drag my keyboard around my desk when I read books/papers. Over time, the soft padding on the feet might come loose since it's only glued on. If you don't drag it much, then great. The height without the feet is comfortable enough for me, so I don't mind.RGB: The instructions on the booklet are pretty straightforward. Lots of rgb options and variety! I like the one where I press one key and the light ripples across the keyboard from that key.-has bluetooth, USB dongle, and a great battery life (been using this for almost a month and it's only at 80%???whatmagic). Oh and it's also compatible with BOTH WINDOWS AND MAC? OH AND IT'S HOTSWAPPABLE?-awesome. awesome. awesome. Can't wait to play around and mod this more. **EDIT:FIVE MONTHS LATER: still love it. I take it with me everywhere. The soft padding on the underside got very loose, so I used super glue. I've only had to charge it 2 or 3 times in the span on five months. Foam mod and tape mod worked wonders, and I still get compliments on how good it sounds.**

**after almost a month of use**This is my first mechanical keyboard and I absolutely LOVE it.I knew I wanted a keyboard that was sturdy (as currently I’m only planning on owning 1 mech keyboard) which is why I opted for the pro version, that was hot-swappable for max customisation options, had multiple RGB modes (bonus for them being customisable), ideally had macro keys (useful for coding), had arrow keys (an absolute requirement), was compatible with both Mac & Windows, and was in the 75%-82% keyboard range as I use the F & page up/down keys frequently.I also greatly preferred a more compact design, similar in style to 60%s. This keyboard was the best option for a fairly decent price I found and I am very happy with my purchase.Customer support was also wonderful and prompt when responding to all of my questions regarding the software that you can download for this keyboard. The software, however, is where my only few gripes come in.—2 Things that annoy me—1. Software not available for Mac:I have 2 laptops: one personal (Mac) & one for work (Windows). The optional software that allows for customisation is only available for Windows computers, which is very annoying and something I didn’t initially realise.I don’t download any software to my work laptop that doesn’t directly pertain to my work, meaning that normally I wouldn’t be able to access the software that allows for keyboard (including macro) & rgb customisation. Fortunately, I have a very old Windows laptop that I can use for the software. However, if you have a Mac and don’t have access to a windows computer, this is something to consider.2. Cant customise the rainbow colours(This annoyance is more minor than the one above, and mostly has to do with my personal annoyance regarding the RGB custom options.)There are 2 rgb tabs: RGB Light Modes & Custom RGB. For the first, where my second complaint mostly comes from, these are the modes that you can cycle through on the keyboard with the default colour being rainbow for most. In the software, you can change the colour of these modes to either a single custom colour or the default rainbow colour. I wish that we were able to customise the rainbow(/‘Mixed’) colours as well. As of right now that is not possible. Again, not a big deal but I’d have really loved to be able to modify the colour panel for the rainbow/mixed option to more fit my personal tastes. As of right now I just have my favourites of these modes set to one colour.A follow up annoyance was in regards to the second RGB tab (custom rgb). The options are far more limited than the RGB Light Modes, and not nearly as dynamic and fun (imo). Also, at least for me, it is not very easy/clear on how to go about actually adding any of the custom rgb modes you make to the actual keyboard. There is a custom rgb option in the RGB Light Modes (which are the ones actually saved to your board) with 3 default options already stored, and I have no idea how to change these for the ones I made in the custom RGB tab (aka I don’t know how to get any of my custom rgb actually on the board). Again, this is more of a minor annoyance since I prefer the more dynamic modes in the RGB Light Modes tab, even though the colouring isn’t nearly as modifiable (again, besides changing between a single custom colour vs default rainbow).Anyway, if you’re still reading my review at this point I’d be surprised lol, but hopefully it was helpful!

The media could not be loaded.  Received the keyboard today, plugged it in, found the right side of the keys not working (not displaying or adjusting the key backlight), already tried to use the official software to fix it. The problem is not fixed. Also, the keyboard itself has some chips (bottom right corner, as if a knife cut off part of the aluminum corner) and under the space bar, video is attached below. I hope for support from the manufacturer. I will make an update when the result will beUPD: Managed to solve this peacefully in a few days (I think a lot depends on a particular person in support, as 2 people contacted me and one had no idea that the bottom of the pro version does not have a sticker with the product ID number), as a result, the second guy made me an offer and we make a deal. My advice is to continue to try to write even if you get a weird response. It all depends on the people in a place.P.S: the product is really great (even with this minor issue), recommend this
