this will work to mount the fish finder on the jon boat, I have a trac on the other boat so I can use the unit on both boats. they are a little pricey but everything is getting that way now days. this should work out great, don't plan to have the transducer in the water at high speeds

Follow the directions and the install is fast and easy. I had mine on the kayak in minutes. If I had a complaint it was that the hex head screws might have been properly sized, but the hex keys weren't? Or vice/versa. Once I found a hex head for a racheting screw driver and the proper wrench the install went fast and tight.

I had an issue with the original tracks that came with my kayak. I purchased Scotty mounts for all my accessories but I almost lost a $200+ fishing setup twice because the original tracks were to wide at the opening and when a big catfish locked on, it ripped the holder out of the tracks. The new tracks from YakAttack are much narrower which fit Scotty mounts perfectly. I provided two photos as a comparison so you can see the difference. They are plastic but seem very durable. People complain about the screws but they are screws. They work fine. Allen wrench and a socket and you are good to go. 20 minute install between removal of old rails and replacement of new rails. Definitely recommended.

Excellent, sturdy rail. Had to get a different type of screw to be able to install it on the kayak, but other than that it was perfect.
