Riser broke on first use
Been wanting a samick sage recurve now for ages. Finally bought one October 2023. Now I finally got the time and place for target practice and start up my bow, set the bow, go for target practice to properly set the bow and scope. My first shot. The riser snapped in have. Didn’t break while pulling. Broke upon release. Wtf???

Great value, but terrible string.
I have been an archer for most of my life, but wanted a cheap take-down bow for traveling. This bow has quite a reputation for "best bang for the buck", so I decided to give it a go. Purchased a 55# model. I'm pretty impressed, but there are a few drawbacks. Overall, I don't think you can find a better bow for $120 bucks, bar none. It shoots pretty well, if not a little loud. Mine had a small amount of twist in one limb, and after inspection, I found it is actually the limb pocket. Not too bad, it is minor and the bow shoots fine. As some others have said, the string it cones with is utter garbage. It is a very thin "endless loop" type, and standard nocks on my wood arrows were too big. I typically use a 14-strand flemish string, and since I make them myself, was able to twist up a new string. If you don't know how to make strings, though, be warned. I would just buy an aftermarket Fast-Flight flemish string when you buy the bow (59" string, or 62" AMO), toss the factory string in the garbage. Anyway, I also purchased 40# limbs, and they appear to be from a different plant. markings are different, as well as the fit and finish. Be aware this bow is made in multiple plants and rebranded, so you may get some variation from bow to bow. There are many places on limbs and riser that it is obvious it is a $120 bow, but you get what you pay for.Overall: Great bargain that cannot be beat in this price range. If you want a cheap takedown "knock around" bow, this is it.

Not the greatest for a beginner but a solid bow!
It just arrived today. The directions weren’t clear and concise but with some digging around my wife and I figured it out. Granted I have a traumatic brain injury from my time in Afghanistan. The construction of this recurve is both gorgeous and sturdy. I still need to string it, but any doubts I may have had about this are now beginning to get shattered. I have full confidence I’ll enjoy this bow and will have great success with it! Following a 13 year hiatus, I am eager to hit some targets and rehone my skills!

Looks really nice, seems to shoot well though i don't know what I'm doing.I'll tell you 55lb is pretty tough to hold long enough to aim. I am pretty strong and have been lifting heavy weights for about 10 years and I can definitely pull it without too much trouble. But it's tough to hold it, aim, and focus on form after shooting a few dozen arrows. If you're shooting the 55lb, you should be pretty strong, and it will still take some time to get used to. This is coming from someone who read all the reviews saying "don't over-bow yourself, 55lb is heavier than you think!"I'm still glad i got the 55lb because I like a challenge. But it is not an easy thing to hold and learn to aim/shoot.

Great Quality for the Right Price
Beautiful bow, great attention to detail. Pull weight is right where 55lbs should be. Very accurate so far.
