They are dense, slow-release pellets designed to sink down into the muck and effetively deliver essential bio-stimulants and indigenous bacteria. Once tossed into a lake or pond they immediately begin to penetrate and degrade organic buildup by stimulating naturally occurring bacteria and adding sludge-eating cultures. They contain safe and beneficial bacteria, and will not harm aquatic species, fish, waterfowl, or people. This product will also reduce sulfide and mercaptan odors found in muck. NOTE: This product will NOT kill aquatic plants or algae. My pond turned murky, never cleared up.
I put this in my koi pond and it turned the water a murky, dirty color. Before use, the bottom of the pond was clear. Now you cant see beyond 2 feet. Even pond clarifier wont clear it up.

Caused Mucky Water - Ironically
I called the company to be sure of the dosage in my large fountains. Within days of adding this product to each of my four fountains, the water became green and mucky. each fountain needed to be drained, cleaned and refilled. Horrible.

This did nothing
We have a tiny pond that's 6ft x 6ft. I dumped this entire bag in, but it did nothing.

It Works
This works great...these little buggers gobble away the grime and smell of stale water/pond odors. will buy again

Good but not for me
It did not hurt any of my plants or my fish! Although I saw the pellets swelling up and spreading out, I didn't feel that it did a better job on cleaning the pond than my clarifier in a bottle.

I expect it would work better in a statement pond.
I used this in my waterfall area. It said it would work in this type of area but it literally did nothing. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because I expect it would work better in a statement pond.
