Most reviews found on Amazon are informative, but many are just too involved with flogging the reviewer's fondness for their own good taste. So without further ado, I have loved this band in all its incarnations since they evolved out of the demise of Split Enz. I loved them on vinyl, cassette, CD, DVD, live and in-person. I cannot get enough of them (with or without Tim). I especially love to see and hear Crowded House live. All I needed to know before buying Travelogue was to see it was 49 songs on 3 CDs recorded live throughout the 2010 Crowded House tour of North America. Plus, there are no multiple variations (with subtle changes) to a well-known, if standard repertoire. Instead, I found fun and exuberance with the general fare, plus new material, unknown material, and uncredited source material from far-flung influences. Plus, there is an equal amount of new music along with new presentations of the well-loved favorites. What I found is that the performances on this set are great, the recorded quality more than acceptable, and the value beyond compare with most current artists' live recordings. Do yourself and/or any other Finn Fan a favor by purchasing this set of recordings for yourself and/or as a gift. If you attended any of the concerts from which this document takes its substance, then know that others envy your experience. If you have ever seen Crowded House live consider yourself lucky indeed. If you saw Richard Thompson open solo for them on their Woodface Tour consider your self blessed. I you saw them on their Woodface Tour featuring Tim Finn and with Richard Thompson playing on the encores, then know you are part of the Creator's Elect. Wow, what great taste! I mean that of Crowded House, not my own.
