SatcoS4998 Medium Light Bulb in Bronze/Dark Finish, 6.50 inches, UNKNOWN, Red Heat

Using this for an infrared sauna situation for mold illness, mold detoxification.I put it in a lamp clamp and hold it over me.Planning to get two more so I can have several pointing at me at once.

The glass outer shell is extremely fragile. I was screwing it in the heat lamp and the glass stem broke before it was all the way seated in the socket. I didn't even get to turn it on. I guess I'll be going to a home improvement chain for a bulb.

Got 2 and one failed in 3 days. I purchased a Phillip heat lamp from Home depot to replace the failed one and found out that the Philip lamp gave out more heat than the remaining one. May be Satco's lamp is only 150 to 200 watt instead of 250watt.

Perfect light color for coop, not too red not too yellow.

I'm used to white heat lamps, but the red gives the feel of a heat lamp, plus it serves to remind users that it should be used for heat, not lighting. I've frequently used the white lamp for light and paid the price. Satco's red lamp is preferred!

I use it in my garage to dry wood I have stained or polyed - it cuts the drying time in half, especially when it is cold (garage gets down to 50* sometimes) and/or humid.

Fair price. Packaging seemed a little excessive, but having said that the product was in perfect condition. Will use for heat lamp in my chicken roost.

Low heat production. The exact same phillips bulbs get way hotter.
