William Collins Memories, Dreams, Reflections: An Autobiography

Having been fascinated with Jung's ideas for quite some time, and wondered plenty about how he was as a person, this has been a very interesting dive into his life and has given me some very cool perspectives on Jung and life itself. Highly recommended for any Jung fans!

It's an awesome book but not really an autobiography as he hardly talks about his personal life apart from his parents and childhood. He barely mentions his wife and kids.It's a book about his professional life, cases he studied and shows a real interest in helping patients. Definitely worth reading if you are interested in the human psyche. The importance of dreams, how the mind works and a life dedicated to helping patients With seriously troubled lives.

Fascinating Book for learning about Jung

This edition has very small font. Even with reading glasses on I got a headache from eye strain after only one page. It's hard to read without a magnifyer. Very disappointing as I was so looking forward to reading it.Amazon did a terrific job with super fast delivery and excellent new eco-friendly packaging! Thanks for that.

分析心理学者カール・グスタフ・ユングの自伝である。確実に言えることは、この中に書かれていることは、あまりにも普通の「自伝」とは異なる。記載されていることの殆どがユングの内面で起こったことである。彼にとって、外界で起こったことは、遥かに重要度が低いようである。しかも、夢や幻視が特に重要な役割をしている。極端な言い方をすれば、ユングの長い人生の中で、彼の夢だけを書いていっても、それは彼の人生のほぼ全てを表している。　最近の日本では、科学的エビデンスに基づいた心理学がどんどん盛んになっている。これは世界的な傾向と同じだと思われるし、科学的手法の強みは、客観性にあるから、この勢いは弱まることはないだろう。しかし、同時に、客観性に当てはまらない領域についても、しっかりと余地を残しておく必要があると思う。少なくとも、このユング自伝を読んで、このような内的意識のストーリーが全て科学的実験で捉えられると思う人は、ほとんど居ないだろう。　なお、私はこの本を、英語の練習を兼ねて読んだ。ドイツ語からの翻訳なので、英語は読み易い。
