After a triumphant European tour that includede appearances at the With Full Force and Dour Festivals, Antarctic rock gods GWAR have returned to their ice-bound fortress, to drink blood and begin work on their newest and most gut-crushing album yet. That s right, right now, at the sorta halfway point of GWAR s special two-year long 25th Anniversary Slay-a-Bration, Slave Pit Inc. and Metal Blade Records are proud to announce the title of GWAR's new album. Our new album is called Bloody Pit of Horror, said ODERUS URUNGUS, front-thing and leading female impersonator. We are fully aware that there is a movie of the same title, I assure you it has nothing to do with it, save the title, which we stole from them. But you see, we're calling it GWAR's Bloody Pit of Horror , and that's a little different, so hopefully we won't get sued! The new album is reportedly heavy as frick, and features songs like Hail to Genocide , Storm is Coming , and Tick-Tits . That s a song about a chick whose breasts are covered in ticks... big fat gray puffy ones , said Oderus. A full track listing and official release date is expected soon.GWAR's new album, 'GWAR's Bloody Pit of Horror' is out this fall on Metal Blade Records. In the meantime look for GWAR back in Europe this summer, at the Bloodstock fest and more! And follow GWAR, buy GWAR merchandise, and jack-off on a picture of GWAR at...

Best GWAR in years
Lust in Space and Beyond Hell were worth buying but were not as good as War Party. If War Party was an A+ Lust in Space was an A- and Beyond Hell was a middle B. But GWAR is back in full force with Bloody Pit. It has MANY songs that are great....not just one or two. It is HARD!!! There is more double bass on this album that any other that came before it. I have listened to it twice a day for the last two weeks and I'm not getting sick of it. The only thing on the album that is mediocre is "come the carnivore". But that isn't really even a song. It is just a bridge from one song to the next. My favorite would have to be "a gathering of ghouls/storm is coming" (which are basically two songs melded into one. It is BRUTAL. It's so friggin' heavy that you'll feel tired after listening to it! "beat you to death" and KZ Necromancer are A+ also.In the past I have judged GWAR albums after just one or two listens. I almost did it this time too. After the first listen I thought it was just a bunch of fluff songs created just so they could put out something new. But these songs take time to get to know.My only complaint is incredibly minor. As with the last two albums it seems that the recording could have been a little more "crisp". There is some serious double bass work in these songs but you often have to struggle to hear it as it is burried behind a blurry wall of guitar sounds. The rythym guitar is also a little "muddy" at times. It just seems that War Party has a cleaner sound. Nevertheless I give BPOH two bloody thumbs up!

Gwar is calling
This is my second favorite gwar album. No wait, my third. Wait again, ok this is maybe the 3rdish. Fu#!ing awesome music for the kids. I lived and loved and learn how to love. The song called You are my Meat...I think that is the name but I am too drunk and lazy to check. That song is awesome and makes me laugh. The song after it called Hail Genocide is also an amazing song and really makes me think about the Reading Rainbow with Lamar Burton if the rainbow was actually a giant vomiting worn devouring the putrid souks of those who dare listen to it. YEP. Listen to it....You f $@cking pukes.

Maybe their best album since "this toilet Earth".
Definitely their best album since "War Party". I will join the consensus and agree that this album is brutally heavy, but still musically apealling. This album is why GWAR should be up there with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax (THE BIG 4) and Overkill. It reminded me why I am SUCH a GWAR fan. This album will melt your speakers if you play it loud enough! Needless to say it is a must own for any GWAR fan but really it should be owned by any fan of thrash metal. After all, GWAR are unarguably one of the pioneers of the genre. Even if they never get credit for it.

Pit of Horrors!!!!
After 'Lust', I hoped not to be let down...and I wasn't. Seems like a bit more drop tuning on this one, but just a great album overall. 'Tick Tits' has some cool riffage and damn funny lyrics. 'Beat You To Death' is a favorite; along with the 4 part opening title track. These guys make me very proud to call Richmond VA home, as they represent metal and our city. I can't wait for the next release to see what they do! Buy this cd....it's very good.

Recommend the MP3's instead, but DO get the MP3's
Zombie apocalypse anyone? Or are you just here for the metal? Either way, you will be quite pleased. The 4 part song had me a bit worried, but they pulled it off pretty well.Do NOT get the CD though, get the MP3's instead. The CD comes in the ultra carbon-nuetral jewel case, the kind that scratches up the disc because there is not plastic placeholder for the CD. Worse still, it was stuck inside the cardboard, which resulted in my disc being damaged, and it took a couple of tries for it to play right. I may or may not be able to get it replaced with a non-damaged disc, but I shouldn't have to worry about that.DO get the MP3's though, because it is a solid set of songs.

Outstanding. More fun from the scumdogs.
I've been a big Gwar fan since 94, but VHA was the last album I had bought prior to this one.Gwar is just as awesome now as they've always been... I would rank this album just below VHA and VHA was absolutely one of my favorites. Thanks for the memories guys.

awesomness
This is the greatest album I've bought, I usually don't buy albums but I'm glad I bought it. The riffs are sexy with the shreds of solos, funny lyrics but they're fantastic. I recommend to all the metal fans out there.

GWAR!!!
