Zclever 8Ch 1080N AHD Night Vision CCTV Security Camera System Surveillance DVR Kits with HDD

I purchased this equipment, after helping to setup a different cheaper system for a neighbor who asked for my help in order to set it up. They both work similar, but this one exceeded expectations in camera quality performance at day and night compared to other lower and higher cost brands I have worked with. In summary:Instruction Manual – this equipment capability are many, but the manual falls short on all potential equipment benefits and uses. But, is more than enough to cover basic installation.Hardware – The wiring is labeled at each end and prepared for to minimize incorrect installations. Cameras were positioned avoiding any glare that could make the images to be blurry at night. I have installed the equipment in a very aggressive environment (ocean front rainy tropical area) and the cameras or wires have not being affected.Customer Service – For the cost of the equipment, the customer support exceeds the expectations. Instead of a direct phone, emails are used to ask questions which are answered most of the time in less than 24 hours. The plus of this support is that it is a free lifetime support and if a question is not clearly answered, they will not bother to answer it again with other wording. This was the key fact for me to make the purchase decision as customer service is either limited or non-existent. The customer service complements what the Instruction Manual do not covers.Software –(1) It uses XMEYE for mobile phone. The hint to make it work, after changing the default password of the equipment, is to press the Pencil Icon and select EDIT in order to also update there the new Admin password. Not a very obvious location or step. (2) I suggest to request from customer service the links for CMS (for laptop system management and view) and the Zclever H264 player application which is better than other free/paid applications.Motion Sensor- This is the only area, where I found the Manual needed more details. In order to make it work, the camera to be set-up for motion sensor controls one or more cameras to be recorded at the same time. It only needs to be all marked and saved. This step was missing from the Manual, but Customer Service provided the explanation with more illustrating photos.Windows Playback- Downloaded several recorded videos into the laptop for safe keeping and to share it with other person for an incident review. I was able to play it back without problem using ZClever windows player application.Monitor – It is preset to a high resolution standard. I had to use an alternate TV in order to downgrade the Zclever monitor setting resolution. I would had prefer to Zclever to place a more common setting for monitors as factory default, but once this challenge is addressed, the equipment saves permanently the new setting even if the equipment if turned off. You need a monitor to find the system serial number to set-up CMS at your laptop.

Got this system to replace an existing system for our home. Had a few issues that Support was able to help out with. The first being, i could not get a monitor to work with the unit. The resolution out of the box wouldn't even display at all on any of my flat screens/computer monitors. I thought i had a defective unit, but after contacting support they explained i needed to change the resolution on the dvr unit. In order to do that, i needed to find a monitor that it worked with the native settings. I found an older monitor and made the change and was then able to hook up all of my tv's via hdmi.I ran into another problem months down the line. I forgot my pw!! i was locked out of my system. I worked with their support and they were able to get me back in. I will say that even though their support is about a one day-delay in response, they are very helpful. They responded to every question i had, and really went above and beyond to try to help me. I did not get the runaround, which seems pretty typical these days.the unit itself works great. and for the price, i can't say i feel i could have done much better. pictures are clear. the video navigation is easy to use, and i can view my cameras remotely and see what my kids are destroying outside, or my wife floating in the pool as i work.Because of the great support, i feel pretty confident that if i had any issues in the future, they would be there to help. That's a huge differentiator.If you are looking for a good, basic system with 8 cameras, I think you will do good with this product. I would purchase again.

OK, it's been a couple of weeks since I ordered these. Once I got them in, I checked them out to make sure all the cameras worked.....past experience. One of the cameras didnt work. I contacted the seller and they responded very quickly. They will require you to send proof of the non-working camera. I can understand why, people are always trying to scam businesses.So, I complied and sent the required proof. A new working camera arrived and I checked that one too and once I saw that it worked I planned a day or two for installation. I will say the picture is much better than my previous system. I was able to downlowd the app very easy onto my Galaxy S9+. Using the app, I was able to position the cameras using the app, For the price, I didn't break the bank buying a more expensive systems, which I did at first and the next day the HDD started making a grinding noice.....back it went to the store. SInce it came with 8 cameras, I only used 7, but in case one goes bad, I got a spare to use. So, for now I am very pleased with it. I will have to post an update . The night vision is beautiful. I'm truly impressed.
