Needs a little more quality control
This is a really good product to use. My Fuji XT2 sits nicely on this, as does my 400mm Fuji lens. You have absolute confidence that it will grasp firmly camera and lenses and have very easy adjustment across all planes and angles. However, upon receipt it was not possible to release the catch mechanism. It eventually required the use of a hex screwdriver to release the retaining stud. Quality control should have taken care of this. Secondly, the ‘Q’ securing screw that holds plate to camera, when pushed flat, is very difficult to prise out without using some form of lever. My fingernails couldn’t do it. A squirt of WD has now fixed that. Both issues relatively minor but neither should have been an issue with a quality product such as Manfrotto. Post production quality control is lax.

Check the specs before you buy
The ball head design, functions and built quality are all top notch. However, the arca-swiss clamp is a quick release so it can only take one plate size. Any other plate size will be too big or too small. I have a Peak Design plate and it was too small to fit onto the quick realise clamp. Also, the tripod attachment hole at base of the ball head is a 3/8 thread size and it does not come with a 1/4 thread adaptor. Check to see before you buy.If you use the plate that comes with the ball head, and your tripod takes a 3/8 thread. This is actually a very good ball head.

Not great, but very sturdy.
Feels solid, can;t complain there. it says it hold 4kg and my camera set up is less than 3 so perfect. However it's a litt;e too thin to fit on a normal photography tripod becaus ethe locking nut falls below the base and so on a normal tripod which is a little wider you cannot lock it, it's useless for that purpose which is annoying as it would otherwise be ideal. I have had to use it on my monopod instead. Alos the quick release is the most fiddly any annoyiny, unintuitive quick release design I have encountered in over 15 years as a professional user of cameras.

Sturdy and reliable
Brilliant little purchase (and worth the price). I've actually attached this to a desk mounted monitor arm (following a hack from YouTuber DSLR Video Shooter). The 1/4 screw needed to keep this in place can be easily fit through the M8 thread on the end of the arm, and this gives me a movable arm that I can attach my camera to when acting as a webcam. It easily supports my EOS 90D with 17-55 zoom (maybe 1.2kg in total). The ballhead is easily adjustable, but maintains its position when you need it to.

Does its job
I bought this to replace an earlier model (484) that I lost. It's compatible with the RC2 plates I have but, curiously, these fit at right angles to the way the newer 200PL plate fits. No problem, just so as you know. For completeness the newer 200PL plate fits onto the older (RC2) adapter, also at right angles. Seems to work reasonably smoothly but it's not the top quality model, nor the price of that!A bit heavy but its going to be that way if you want sturdiness and the ability to support larger cameras.
