Guns of Gettysburg Board Game

A very strange game. Way too complicated, even bizarre. But... it's got the best map of Gettysburg in the universe, remarkably beautiful and remarkably thorough. My advice: Buy the game for the map, then throw the game itself away. Yes, the map's that good - it's worth the steep price of admission alone. Then you'll have this splendid map to read and study the battle by.

i have plyed them all.this game is a show piece.rules have to read one step at a time.if you miss one aspect of the game rules you wont get it.my wife and i read and study it when we can.she has never seen any thing like this before not for new gamers.i have hope that one day we can put the rules down and get busy.dont let the rules scare you.with time and help from mercury(youtub)the game makes sence.if you are old school you will miss hexes.but i have learned to stay open the pollygon hexes makes a lot sence.i wish i could have seen this game 30 years ago.thanks

A refreshingly innovative game design, so different to many of the hex and counter games that cover the Battle of Gettysburg. The game rules are concise and cover all the game mechanics with clarity, but do need to to be fully read. The game designer's website contains a number of clear and helpful examples of game play - very welcome support.

a nice rendition of the battle. particularly like the double-blind system of reinforcements. keeps you guessing about what's coming on and when. interesting game.

Guns of Gettysburg is complex, in depth, and a totally satisfying game experience. Highly recommended.
