This item was recommended by SPRAT LVL3 as an accepted alternative to the Shunt. It works great as a back up device in a traditional two rope system.I use it for climbing flag poles as the length of the rope can be easily adjusted both ways as the pole tapers. (I use 1/2" - 13mm rope and it fits fine in the device).
