Absolutely my favorite jazz reeds. They’re sturdy enough to give you a nice clear sound and flexible enough to really let you bend and play with your sound. I tested a lot of different brands and types throughout college and these we’re definitely my favorite hands down.

Absolutely LOVE these reeds! Recommended by my music teacher, these are exactly what I've needed. Good solid reeds that last for hours of playing without getting soft. I'm a moist player, think spitty, and often had trouble with reeds getting to soft during long playing. These reeds hold up really well and so far every one I've picked from the box was instantly playable! Miracle! I'll be buying these again! Usually play a 3, I was told these were stiffer and I would need to go down a number, glad I did. The 2 hard was perfect.

The only problem I have with these reed was the wait to get them :-) they are great. VAN DOREN 2 1/2 I would pinch it too hard and cut off the air, Van doren 3 1/2 TOO hard and very airy alot of air needed to push out the sound not comfortable for me..but these rico's are just right. Number 3. I ordered a varity pack for the Van doren to see if I like their number 3 to give them a try but I really like the rico number three the best so far and I am not to patient with reeds, they work or they don't

Never tried these reeds until recently but love them. They are accommodating and expressive and - so far - no duds, which is pretty good going when you've splashed out on 10 of them. I would have awarded 5 stars but still have a couple of unplayed ones. Check em out and don't be put off by the 'select jazz' tag; they're just very playable and responsive which allows you to produce good tone through the range of the horn.

Giving these a 4 star review because I prefer the unfiled for my jazz performances.

I haven't tried the 10 reeds but they have excellent deep sound, great to put your alto sax away from high pitch uncomfortable sound even for high notes. Maybe I had bad luck but there are some variability among different reeds in the same box. I would definitely buy another box. Highly recommended.
