MastiqeSugar Free Hard Chewing Gum with Natural Mastic (Variety Pack, 12 Count)

Good exercise for your mouth, great taste.

The company makes no claims of what is actually in their "gum base" listed on the ingredients, therefore it is safe to assume it is a synthetic plastic/rubber just like most other gum brands. Their branding is just deceptive marketing on top of a poor quality product. Their website and packaging is full of a story about the Greek island mastic comes from, yet the company is based in Turkey, where the product is manufactured, and likely where they source their mastic from. They write "natural mastic" in big letters on the box, even though it's only used as a small component of the flavouring, which fades very quickly, not the actual gum base itself. The packaging is very nice, and the individual pieces of gum are irregularly shaped and contain no colouring, giving the illusion of a quality, handmade, authentic product. But it is just an illusion.In addition to fading very quickly, the flavours are very subtle, barely even there. Many of the flavours smelled stronger than they tasted. The individual pieces of gum are fairly small, I found two to be a reasonable amount to chew at a time. That effectively cuts the "number of pieces" in half.In addition, some of the packages within the box seemed damaged when I opened it with the plastic seals being broken, I'm not sure if this is the fault of the company or Amazon shipping. I would not buy this product again, and will be trying to get my money back.

I purchased the variety pack and my favorite is watermelon and the original mastic flavor. The spearmint and cinnamon burned my tongue after 15 minutes of chewing. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I’ve only tired the original flavor so far. I’m very neutral on it. Has a nice texture.

The watermelon maintains its little bit of flavor, but the others do not. More flavor would be appreciated. As for bite resistance, it's fine; it works. I'd guess increasing bite would be a difficult thing to do with a naturally sourced gum.

I never write reviews, because I normally do not complain. But, this gum is the absolute worst product. Too hard to chew. Tastes like a chemical. Breaks your teeth trying to even chew it. DO NOT BUY IT.
