Jones' warm baritone was made for the Holidays
Jones’ warm baritone seems made for the holidays. What we have with this 1964 release is a very generous Christmas song compilation—12 cuts in an era when ten was the norm, with two of the cuts as medleys of three songs each, bringing the song total to 16 cuts in all. In its remastered form, the album sounds better than ever, with a very clean full-bodied sound. Jones has such a good voice his singing seems effortless, and arranger Marty Manning is the perfect accomplice. I like every thing here, but my favorites are “Lullaby for Christmas Eve,” the jazzy “Mistletoe and Holly,” “The Christmas Waltz” and the second of the two medleys, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/It Came Upon A Midnight Clear/The First Noel.” The latter was featured on a Firestone Promotional 8-Track Tape which was my introduction to Jones’ Christmas music. I bought the Jones' Christmas LP (this was before CDs) and have enjoyed listening to it each Christmas season. When the CD era arrived, The Jack Jones Christmas Album waited a long time for the transfer. Now that it's here, I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Great to finally have this album on CD!
It is great to finally have this album on CD!I don't know what some of the other reviewers are talking about. The sound on this CD is great. It definitely sounds as if it were mastered from an original tape as the sound is very clear and pristine. I also had no issues with skipping on my copy. The booklet is very nicely done and I enjoy having the original cover art.Jack Jones brings his take to several great Christmas songs and his fans should enjoy this. I've been waiting to have this on CD for years now and this release doesn't disappoint.

FINALLY - a classic, on CD in original complete form for the first time !
YES !One of the finest Christmas albums of all time, long out of print and never available on CD in complete form until now !Jack Jones had a beautiful style of his own, an updated Sinatra - a terrific 60's singer alongside Tony Bennett during that era, but a little more pop and less jazz. This album from 1964 is essential for lovers of Christmas music and 1950's and 1960's crooners. Thanks to Real Gone Music for this excellent new CD version (2016) with extensive liner notes and nice remastering.

One Of The Ten Greatest Christmas Albums Ever!
Jack Jones glorious masterpiece from 1964 has to rate as one of the ten greatest Christmas albums of all time. Featuring the two time grammy winning singer with a golden set of pipes that feature his flawless tone and pitch, one is amazed that it took so long to get this legendary album released in its first complete digital glory with original album cover artwork included.Real Gone Music, the gold standard when it comes to remastering and releasing Christmas albums from the golden age of Christmas music that occurred from the late 50's to the middle to late 60's and slightly beyond, has once again put out a product of such quality and class that it would behove other catalogue labels to take notice on what is the right way to remaster and re-release these sonic gems from the past.Jack's version of Sleigh Ride sets the mood and the standard from the very beginning. If Mr. Jones breakneck version featuring the absolutely jaunty and magnificent orchestral arrangement of Marty Manning does not put a smile on your face, especially the great horn mimicking a horse and Jack's last vocal raspberry exclamation, than your just not in the festive spirit of Christmas. The highlights continue with his absolutely stellar version of My Favorite Things which would turn the song from being known more as a standard from The Sound Of Music to a bona fide Christmas standard that many artists would copy, particularly his jazzy vocal interpretation. Just listen to Kelly Clarkson's version from her magnificent Christmas album to see where she might have gotten her original inspiration for her great rendition. If you love Johnny Mathis's Merry Christmas masterpiece or the Andy Williams Christmas album from the same time period or the great Nat King Cole album, The Christmas Song or Michael Buble's modern day Christmas standard that fits right in with the beauty and timelessness of these masterpieces, you will absolutely love The Jack Jones Christmas Album from 1964, freshly and magnificently remastered in all its digital glory from the original master tapes owned by Universal Music.

On CD at last !!
It's been 52 years since this recording was first released and it has never been available on CD until now. For some reason I didn't buy the album in 1964 although I normally bought every Jack Jones release and I am very fond of Christmas albums, so I was delighted that Real Gone had decided to issue it. It certainly was not a disappointment and was worth the 52 years wait !! If you're a fan of Jack you need this in your collection.

... Christmas CD to become available and I was not disappointed with my purchase
Have waited a long time for a Jack Jones Christmas CD to become available and I was not disappointed with my purchase. As always Mr Jones is in fine voice and a joy to listen to. Good choice of Festive songs and will so look forward to listening again and again when December comes around each year. Thought I had every Jack Jones album so can't understand how I missed this one, but am glad I now have this in my collection. A definite buy for all JJ fans and for those who enjoy Christmas songs well sung.

A classic album but a little disappointed with the overall sound quality...
I bought this some months ago and have been waiting for December to play it. Whilst this is undoubtedly a classic album with some fine vocal performances and arrangements I was a little disappointed in the overall sound quality that has been achieved. What I was very pleased to see and read were the notes and images within the liner booklet.
