Are these fermentation lids with airlocks suitable for lacto-fermenting vegetables?

These fermentation lids with airlocks for lacto-fermenting vegetables to be awesome! I started lacto-fermenting cucumbers and beets. It's a great product and eliminates the need for "burping" the jars manually, and glass weights can easily submerge vegetables in salt water.

would there need to be space in between the bottom of the tube and the liquid?

Thanks for your inquiry. Leabe space(at least 1.2 inch) between the airlock and the top of your fermented food, there needs to be air top it so it can let air escape.

What is the recommended method for sterilizing the seals?

Thanks for your inquiry. 304 stainless steel lid and glass weights are dishwasher safe. For the plastic airlocks and other silicone accessories, you can use mild soap and soft cloth or sponge to wash them and let dry, do not use boiling water to disinfect the plastic airlocks.
