Sony Wh-Xb900N Wireless Noise Canceling Extra Bass Headphones, Gray

I owned the black version of these headphones. I have had them for 3 years. The earmuffs ripped and now the foam is exposed, which hurts my ears after extended use. This sounds like I am giving it a bad review, but I am not. both muff linings failed within 2 days of each other, so the intended life cycle is impressively close. But guess what? Every single other aspect of this headset is flawless. The sound is still great, the battery will last 3-4 days (when I forget to charge them because the battery is awesome), and nothing else has seen a degradation in performance. Worth every penny.

Got it while on sale and am thoroughly impressed with these headphones. The build quality is all plastic (aside from the size adjustment band which is metal), but it doesn't feel cheap. They're also pretty comfortable for long use - however, my ears do tend to sweat after a while.The sound quality is surprisingly balanced. I expected it to be bass-heavy given the branding, but it's honestly just a hint deeper than the Hear On 1's I'm replacing. This is a plus for me because I was a bit concerned the bass would be overwhelming and muddy, which it isn't. Either way, you can easily adjust the bass in the app to your liking. My only pet peeve with the sound quality is that you can't use any other codec aside from SBC if you want to adjust the in-app equaliser. Speaking of codecs, I want to note just how fast these pair with my phone - when Bluetooth on my phone is active and I turn on the headphones, it takes just under three seconds to pair. Every other Bluetooth device I own takes at least 20-30 seconds, so this is a welcome surprise.Another thing I love about these is the touchpad on the right ear cup. You can skip songs, pause, raise/lower volume, etc. Ambient mode is probably my favourite feature, where you place your hand over the cup to lower the volume and stop the noise cancelling to hear things around you - and let me tell you, this is SUPER convenient!With respect to the noise cancelling, it's honestly not impressive at all. It barely blocks more noise than the headphones themselves, which is a bit disappointing. On the bright side, at least there isn't any hissing like on some N/C headphones. Definitely don't get these if this is a priority feature for you.The battery life is also very good - I can easily get the advertised 30h of use on one charge. The charging times aren't the greatest here (takes a few hours to go from 0-100%), but that's far from a deal-breaker for me.Overall, I have 0 regret getting these. Not sure if they're worth the regular price (I think it's a bit expensive for what you get), but they're a no-brainer when discounted. Either way, these were a great purchase.

I bought these because I wanted to upgrade from my $80 pair and because I had a migraine that lasted for over two months (I was able to get appropriate treatment and I'm much better now) and I needed something to block out more sound.These did the trick and I was able to exist without as much pain while still being able to listen to a podcast or YouTube video to pass the time.This has an independent volume control which is CRITICAL for me because my phone has Android 9, which has made the phone's volume, even on the lowest volume while wearing headphones, EARSPLITTINGLY LOUD. Being able to actually turn down the volume to a normal person level (and even lower to a comfortable level while extremely sensitive to noise) is amazing.The controls to switch songs or turn down the volume are a little tricky to get used to at first, but then again, I didn't really read the directions, which is my fault lol.These headphones block out ambient noise very effectively, and the sound quality is super great. I can't say enough good things about these headphones, especially because they are a cheaper option when you're looking at higher end Bluetooth over ear headphones.Also! They're comfortable and the earpads are easy to clean. I've worn these for eight hour stretches (migraines are really painful y'all) and they've never been uncomfortable aside from the unavoidable discomfort of having something on your head for that long. But for normal people wearing these for shorter periods of time, they're totally comfortable. However, ymmv if you have a larger noggin.
