As Tank Destroyers go, the M-18 was a very good one. The doctrine and concept of TD's was flawed, so only 2500 of these vehicles were made. The Hellcat was small, fast, had 76mm cannon - but open top and thin armor meant that TD's were not going to be as successful as tanks.80 pages of 1st rate photos of every aspect of beautifully restored Hellcats. Every aspect is shown - hull, chassis, engine, crew areas, storage, cannon. Very little in way of narrative - this is a photo essay, but there is a ton of useful information in each caption. There are a few line drawings and color plates to flesh out the photos.Author Doyle and the photographers did an excellent job here.
