My Little Pony: Twilight Sparkle and the Forgotten Books of Autumn (The Princess Collection)

I feel kind of bad giving this book a three star rating considering Berrow has been doing pretty good with recent books, and has shown that she can understand characters that even the show sometimes struggles to properly potray. The books have usually been good at appealing to the target audience, while containing small nuggets of fan service to hook older fans on them. Sadly, that's not really the case here, the story is about Twilight trying to find a way to preserve books, and that's really about it. This could make for an interesting concept, but it only really picks up late into the story with this lost town and a curse that can cause the ink in books to smudge and fade, prior to that it's just books, books, and more books. Even as a vivid bookworm, I can tell this concept would turn most people off in a heartbeat, especially the target audience of little kids. I think Berrow needs to remember what she herself wrote when she penned an episode of the show "We get the picture, you like books!" because there's more to Twilight's character than just books and magic, and not even an appearance from Moondancer, one of the most popular characters introduced in recent seasons, can make up for a story that probably won't interest people who aren't already bookworms. If you like books and like Twilight as a bookworm, this story's definitely for you. Otherwise, I'd say you can skip it.

if you like the TV episode of Friendship is Magic titled CRYSTAL EMPIRE you will probably enjoy this book which like the Crystal empire episode deals with a town that vanished from every ponies memory with a spell. The story also has known supporting characters such as Moon Dancer in it. Deals with Twilight trying to stop the knowledge of books vanishing from Equestria for ever.

The bookworm in me loves this story! Well-written, well-formatted, and very in tune with the core values of My Little Pony.
