Smokeware Temp. Gauge for BGE (R)

I loved this size and readability of this thermometer, especially as compared to the stock BGE thermometer, but it stopped working after just a few months of use. I wrote to Smokeware and their response was "try tapping it". No follow-up when I reported that that's the first thing I tried.I really like other products from Smokeware that I have purchased, but this one was disappointing.

I have had this temperature gauge for about 1 year and it now is not giving accurate temps. I have tried to recalibrate but it is way off from my didgutL thermometer. It used to be close to accurate but now the needle just is way off. I thought for this price it would last longer. Now have to go find my original green egg thermometer.

Looks great on my BGE. My original BGE konked out after 6 years. Bought this as a replacement. Easy to see and accurate but...lasted less than a year before it started malfunctioning. Needle sticks now. I don't have time or patience to keep tapping the dial every reading especially during a 12-14 hour slow bbq smoke session. My BGE is covered when not in use and there is no moisture in the dial so weather exposure is not the issue. Have not had any run-away flareups (700 degrees +) so that can't be the reason either. Gave two away as gifts. Hope those fare better than the one I kept.

We have a large BGE and this fits perfectly. The black dial and white needle makes it super easy to read. I can see it from inside when monitoring a low and slow cook. It was easy to calibrate, too.

BGE enthusiasts will love this temp guage. Easier to read than OEM and cool looking. Easy to install and accurate. Great to be able to read it from a distance. A definite upgrade to any BGE model,

It fit perfect into the original thermometer hole of a X-Large Big Green Egg (BGE). It needed to be calibrated. It was reading about 40 degrees cooler than the accurate temp probe that was next to it. Otherwise, it's a nice, very readable size and complements that style of the BGE.

I was having a problem keeping my original gauge calibrated (to be fair it was 12 years old) and I was looking for a replacement. This has a really big dial by comparison and is easy to read with the white on black scheme. I calibrated it as soon as I took it out of the box and it was spot on from the factory.

Arrived quickly, looks great, blends in with the hardware on my BGE. Super easy to install, rubber gasket insures good seal and is keeping an accurate temp.
