Grey Knights

It was a good read expanded my knowledge of Grey knights and 40 K lore!!!

Any fan of the Warhammer 40k universe should already be familiar with the Grey Knights. And to most of us, they are one of the most interesting yet mysterious Space Marine Chapters in the Imperium. With this in mind, one's expectations would be pretty high when beginning this novel, but once again, Ben Counter delivers a solid and impressive story. Well, for those of you benighted souls who don't recognize the Grey Knights Space Marine Chapter, the Grey Knights are the Chamber Militant of the Inquisition's Ordo Malleus. Translation: They kill daemons for a living! Yes, that's right. Grey Knights are Marines specially trained and outfitted for the sole purpose of killing anything that comes out of the warp. So, of course, any novel about the Grey Knights should have, say, inquisitors? Check. Daemons? Check. Intrigue? Check. Psykers? Check. Ferocious, bloody, detailed, all-out warfare? Check. Yes, that's right, this novel has it all. Ben Counter provides, in my opinion, his best work yet, giving Warhammer 40k fans almost everything they could ask for in one nice, long (400 pages!) novel. Now you might have noticed that I really haven't gone into the details of the plot, but really, think about it. What do you think a novel about the Grey Knights should have? Make a wish list. Then keep it with you while you read this novel, because you're gonna get everything you asked for.

The author captures the essence of the Grey Knights perfectly. The story sometimes feels fractured but Alaric helps anchor you amid the sometimes confusing battles and hastily sketched environments. Overall a fun read for any 40k fan.

Grey Knights by Ben Counter is a very good book. The Grey Knights are daemon hunters and are a new space marine chapter. Ben Counter has again written a very exciting story that has lots of action and intrigue. He has also done a great job at developing the main characters into believable and personable people yet he does so in a clear and concise way. I recommend this book.

This book is well written. This is a great read if you enjoy military science fiction. You do not have to be a Warhammer player to enjoy this book. The author does a great job of blending a military science fiction with a more ancient crusading order in a battle against demonic powers. The main characters a Grey Knight leader and a Imperium Inquisitor are well written and make this book hard to put down. The book also gives Grey Knight players a great understanding of the units they are playing and what campaigns they might fight in and likely tactics and other special abilities they might employ.

A great series to start. The Grey Knights. The elite of the Space Marines. Forged to keep Daemons from the Imperium. Following a upstart as his story takes him through so much more than he ever expected.

An awsome 40k 3 book anthology , ben counters writing draws you in to the universe of 40k , very well written.
