Works Great
I repair copy machines for a living. It has really been nice to not breath in all the chemicals from canned air. I carry both in my bag but have not used the canned air since I started carrying the O2 system. I have even suggested that we replace our canned air with this unit. My machines are cleaner and I can use it at any angle. Try doing that with canned air.It is now April and I can't say enough good things about this system. I can use it upside down, sideways or even right side up. This makes it handy when trying to get into tights spots that canned air can't always reach. I find that I only charge it about once a month and it goes all month. I cannot tell that there is much loss in pressure over time.

Loud and Unreliable
Loud. Light and occasional use for about 6 months then it died. Something broke inside and it started smelling like burnt wiring. I did not abuse this thing. Amazon says I am outside of my return window. I'll look for another brand.

Decent replacement for canned 'air'
Now that I've had a chance to let the unit charge, I've come back to edit my review. No instructions are included in the box. This isn't necessarily a huge problem: there is one button on the unit, and holding it down turns the blower 'on.' Letting it go shuts it off. It really can't get easier to use. However, the online manual notes that the device should be charged for 10 hours before using, and a reference to this suggestion should be included in the box. The wall wart has an LED that shines green when the unit is charged, and red while it is charging; it took a little less than five hours for the light to go green on its first charge. The duster definitely moves some air. The manufacturer claims airspeeds of 200 miles per hour; the air coming out the nozzle with or without the focusing straw does not feel as though it is moving at that speed. Comparing with a chemical air-duster, the chemical product does seem more powerful. The nozzle is also much smaller on the chemical duster to fit into the fins on small heatsinks. However, the ability to run the electric duster for extended periods without filling the room with chemical vapors and bittering agents is a definite plus. While it does emit a high pitched whine while running - it reminds me of a dustbuster hand vacuum - I'm so far happy with this purchase.

My husband wanted this for two years. I thought it was way to expensive for what it is. Finally I broke down and bought it for him for him for Christmas. I was totally wrong. While it is a little pricy we use it a lot and have definitely gotten our moneys worth. We will probably actually save money in the long run since we don't have to go buy canned air all the time.

It will work
So, I got tired of buying canned air for my computer gigs, I also never liked that canned air shoots liquid at the computer parts if held upside down and it will weigh sensitive parts like fan blades down if not wiped off. So I ran across this product. Most people seemed to think canned air had more pressure even the special "blue model" that's sold so I went straight to the top and bought the "industrial strength" model which does seem to have a pretty equal pressure to canned air. That's one of it's PROs, another is the compactness of the product. In my view, that's where the pros stop.So now the CONs: canned air is lighter weight, this model just by guessing is between 2 and 3lbs. It's very loud so just be sure you don't mind people looking if you're doing an on-site.Next, the design itself: Horrible, lazy, cheap -why? Because this unit is plastic-welded together from a front and back plastic shell. The plastic seems robust enough to survive knocks and impacts, but it's design does nothing for the buyer that wants to continue getting back from their investment year after year. The "hurricane" is basically a battery and a blower motor held together in this shell. When the day comes that the battery is not so long-lived most users will end-up chucking this thing because there is no easy way to replace the battery. I paid 80+ dollars for this thing, you better believe I want to FAR out use it's function in canned air sales. In addition to not being easily replaceable, the manufacturer loses value for their unit by not enabling their end users to switch out batteries and keep going with their maintenance. I also think that the special $35 holster accessory and tips should be free for this unit, especially if a I.T. professional is purchasing their most expensive model. Due to the weight and strange size of this, it's just a no-brainer to give these items away with a purchase due to the fact that one wrong move could leave your newest tool investment in plastic pieces all over the floor.Even though, many people came back and said that this unit would never gain more pressure to have a smaller straw attached I thought I'd give things a try anyway. Here are my findings. The shorter the distance to the blower the more "push" you get from it. When I decided to fabricate my own small straw the final product did indeed have less "push" behind it equal to using the last bits of pressure in a typical can of air. You CAN reduce the mouth size of the attachment tube to resemble a rectangular shape, but to get more velocity from this unit, would require blocking air holes and altering the design a bit on the inside which would in turn would stress the components more and ultimately void any kind of warranty this might have.I've found that the attachment's opening size is really only missed when you need air in a very specific place a far distance from you (which doesn't happen as much as you think). In all other cases, the air itself is going the direction you need it and will make it into all the small spaces.Hopefully some of my insights will make it back to the manufacturer and they will update the design of their product. And for those looking to buy for the portability of this item would be able to make a better informed decision. For anyone, not needing the portability, I would recommend a small oil-less electric air compressor with a moisture trap. They are infinitely more flexible in uses have dialable pressure settings and give consistent, quiet, velocity.

Pricey, Noisy, & Low Air Flow
I knew this product might not be what it was cracked up to be when they measured the air flow in MPH, and not in PSI, CFM, or SCFM, and they did not make a comparison to how it measures up to canned air in this regard. Basically this is just a small fan that blows air. It's force is maybe a little more than half of what canned air is. It is also very noisy due to the high RPM the motor has to run at to generate wind speed from the small internal fan. I rated this at two stars because it does work, but ONLY for very light duty uses. It does not have the power or force needed to remove fine dust particles or larger debris in tight spaces where you can't get right up on. You can also feel a reduction in air flow when you use the straw extension due to fact that the small motor can't handle the added resistance the straw adds. For what you get it is also a very pricy unit. I do a lot of electronic/computer work and it just did not fit my needs. I decided to return this product and bought a small electric air compressor at the local hardware store. It was cheaper than this product and has even more force than canned air. The only downside is it weighs more, but is still portable enough to not be an issue. I also can use it for other tasks other than just cleaning, which to me makes an air compressor an even greater value. For some, this product may work, but for me it just was not economical nor forceful enough to be worth while.

Fantastic
Before I begin I would just like to point out that this product NOW SHIPS WITH UK SOCKET CHARGER and there is no need for a US adapterI have only bought a few cans of air in my few years of pc building, but just a few is enough to know that they are just the worst thing in the world to use...I've been looking for an electric alternative for a while and although the data vac has been available for some time I didn't like the idea of having to plug it into the mains to use as I often take things outside to clean.I have found it's power quite comparable with canned air, not quite as strong when focused however it only takes a couple seconds for canned air to loose its oomph and this just keeps on going. Charging time doesn't seem too long and it has a pretty good life when used conservatively like you would canned air. It's great for cleaning other things too, it blows away the majority but leaves very fine dust. I have found using it with a microfiber to be quite effective and it very easy to just blow over everything a second time to take away the dust that settles back on everything just minutes after wiping it.

O2 Hurricane
