Works well to remove decals and other adhesive from surfaces.
Used to remove the sticky adhesive from weatherstripping on my motorhome and it worked well for that.

Impressed
I was mistakenly fooled into thinking that this was going to be as easy as the other comments have suggested. It was, but what they didn't warn me of was the leftover residue from the pad. It's pretty much the same thing as eraser shavings when you erase pencil from paper but this was on the paint. I was panicked once I got done because I had all these smears now in my paint and had no clue how to remove them. I started with a plastic knife trying to scrap it off. This was working but would take forever to complete. I then started reading the back of a bottle of rubbing compound that I had. Totally said that it was made for this sort of thing so I figured, what the heck. I put some on an applicator and had at it. In a matter of 5 minutes I had both sides completely smear free. it would have been nice to have known that going into it and I would have save myself some grief. So, now that I know how to clean up my mess. I feel this smart eraser is a work of magic. it totally stripped my pinstripes off both sides of the car in a matter of about 5-10 minutes. Just don't let it sit in one spot too long and get hot. Other than that, it really is as simple as erasing pencil from paper.

What a relief...
This worked great. I had some decals on a used truck that had been on there for 15+ years, impossible to peel. Goof-Off didn't work worth a darn...it softened the decals so much they still wouldn't peel. I've done this before, so I knew my only alternative was a very carefully used razor blade and about two weeks of steady work, and I'd still have to use the Goof-Off. Enter the smart eraser pad. All done in less than an hour, decals, adhesive, and even some discoloration in the paint that wouldn't come out any other way. And now the things I learned:1. A variable speed reversible drill works the best. My cordless just didn't last long enough on a charge. The reversible feature let me use it from both directions without "chattering."2. This is the first abrasive product I've ever used that actually works best with the lightest imaginable pressure. As a matter of fact, my biggest issue on this job was keeping myself from putting more pressure on it. The lighter your touch, the better it works.3. It can go through the clear coat/paint if you leave it in one spot long enough. Just keep it moving all the time. I learned this by being too lazy to loosen a piece of trim and push it out of the way...in trying to get right up to the trim, I put a (little) divot in the paint. Luckily, it's way down on the side in front of the passenger side rear wheel.4. As mentioned in other reviews, it's a mess. The rubber shreds stick to everything, and there's a lot of them. However, it was worth every minute of the cleanup to me. Lucky I did this outside. Be smart and wear eye protection and a breathing mask. Those shreds go everywhere!5. It worked much more effectively by starting on an edge and working into the decal from there. Starting in the middle took a lot longer to break through the decal and adhesive and start erasing.6. The arbor just fits a 3/8" drill with the chuck opened almost all the way.Amazing solution. I highly recommend this tool if you have stubborn decals to remove.

Removed pinstriping and molding tape like magic!
Wow, this really worked wonders. I have a Buick SUV with ugly weathered pinstriping, bulky emblems and thick chrome molding all along the sides and back. I was able to strip the entire vehicle in one evening using only this wheel, an 18v drill, 25 lb fishing line, 3M adhesive remover, water and some paper towel. The wheel itself is kind of a cross between rubber and an eraser and as you use it there is a lot dust leftover. One wheel lasted the entire vehicle, though it was nearly worn down-- that's a great value! The whole process took under 2 hours including set up and cleaning. Each side took about 40 minutes, though that was under 15 minutes of running the wheel. The rest of the time was spent letting it cool off and rinsing off the eraser dust. I was a little worried at first because it looked like I was damaging the paint... But it ended up just being adhesive residue. I used 3M Adhesive remover on a paper towel and it just wiped away like a commercial. I finished it off with a good rinsing and the job was done. No sign of the pinstripes or chrome. My tips are: 1) Wash the car first to remove all dirt and dust. 2) Take it slow. Don't press down hard and let the wheel cool off after 30 seconds of use. 3) Use the wheel at an angle like the directions show. I've seen tutorials online which show it being used flat, but it went much faster for me at a 45-60 degree angle. The pinstriping just flew off. 4) While cooling the wheel rinse the dust off with the hose. 5) Wear glasses and a mask. It threw a lot of dust in my face. 6) Have a work table nearby to set your tools and sprays on. 7) Use the fishing line like dental floss to remove the emblems and trim. It will break often, but its much easier and safer than trying to pry it off.
