A Who's Who of 20th Century Media
I knew this book was going to be released months in advance, and had been looking forward to it. Suffice it to say, it didn't disappoint. As you may have guessed from the photos I shared, I bought this primarily for one of my favorite actors, Griffin Dunne. He knew Earl and Camilla through his family, and Griffin even calls Earl his "fake Uncle" in the excerpt he wrote for the book.I'm a huge fan of Dunne, and personally run a Tumblr and Instagram showcasing his life and work. I've been able to find rarities all over the place, and at this rate, these rarities are starting to find ME. Most of the photos featured I've only seen for the first time TODAY as I write this review (during a heated Presidential Election 2020).All fangirling aside, Camilla McGrath's photos are as prolific as they are fascinating. I highly suspect that her photographs could house an archive that rivals Andy Warhol's, which is hosted by the Stanford University website. Some of my personal favorites include the shots of Sharon Tate, as beautiful as she always was. There's also one particularly striking photograph of the late Natasha Richardson with author John Gregory Dunne. If you're into photography, pop culture, and history, FACE TO FACE is right up your alley!

Bought this as a Christmas present for my husband - it's filled with wonderful pictures and snippets of information around the pictures. Makes a lovely coffee table book - would highly recommend!
