The given perspective
The book provides very provoking thoughts and questions not only about the issues in Special education but also the solutions which most of the time lie within our own perspective and approach. It is a indirect wealth of resources and ideas for effective instruction practices as well.

The history of Spec Ed, and current challenges, as shared by those who know it best
Excellent book. The personal stories shared reflect not only their experiences but anyone in the field of Special Ed will be able to relate to them. Educational as well as reflecting on all of the trials and challenges faced in the school system as it exists today. Puts it all in perspective by not only delving into the history of Special Ed as it came to be but how this effected what it's become. Anyone working or interested in this field will find it highly valuable.
