size mystery, but good shoes
Other than being too small to put on, the shoes are very nice. So how would I know without wearing them? Because I bought the identical NB model and size a few years ago and I couldn't be happier. But gee--identical manufacturer, model, and size...how could the first pair fit perfectly while this pair is too small to even try out? No one seems to be interested in this question, but if it is not pursued won't the same thing happen to someone else? Caveat emptor.P.S. I sent the following Email to New Balance on 12/4/17; no useful response yet.A few years ago I bought a pair of New Balance Men's 624 USA size 10.5 D, and I have really enjoyed using them. I ordered a new pair from Amazon, same size and model. They were too tight to use (not wide enough), and I returned them. Today I went to an actual store. The same problem exists there--10.5 D was too tight. I tried on 10.5 EE, and they were a little loose, but I can adapt with heavy socks and firm lacing, and so I bought them. No, my feet have not grown. The salesman measured my feet and 10.5 D is correct (the width is even slightly LESS than D).I believe that the new ones are too tight for the marked size because the shape of the "box" at the front of the shoe has changed. For my old shoes (that fit), the upper rises vertically from the sole on both sides before curving to the middle. But for the new shoes the upper rises at a steep angle from the little-toe side towards the middle, leaving less usable room on that side.To help other on-line buyers I intend to post this information at Amazon. I am writing to you first to get your comments. I think it would be in your interest to fix this error, else your shoes will start getting "too-small" reviews from everyone..

Is this a cost reduction gone bad? Or are these shoes massively mis-labeled
I have been buying these shoes for many years. Why are you making them so narrow now????? My old shoe sole width was 134.70 MM wide (See Picture). This new shoe (identical size) is only 125.62 MM wide. Is this a cost reduction gone bad? Or are these shoes massively mis-labeled ???? Both new and old shoes are marked M2034 USA13 5E(XX), both are made in China.I am very sad that I no longer can order this shoe that I loved to wear. Propet…..get your act together!!!!!Bob H.

Unfortunately the negative reviews are correct, NB 623/624 wearer for well over a decade. This shoe was designed for a non-human foot. Not sure what they used for the model, but they may want to throw it out and use a model from a human. The heel section is at least 3/4 to 1 of an inch shorter then previous versions. This shoe feels like it's going to slip off your heel with every step since it not high enough. A picture is worth a thousand words. Old shoe vs. new.

New Balance tennis shoes, no quality control!!
I have been purchasing New Balance for years. Within the last two years the quality control is non existence. The pair of shoes "624" tennis shoes I purchased in Nov.2017 are falling apart. I use these shoes for walking about..NO outdoor work etc. I started buying them probably 15 years ago manly for the width provided and comfort. Now they just fall apart. If you can see the picture you can see the sole is coming off as my others shoes did and the front side is tearing away. Last pair I will buy!!!!! No quality control now!!

Actually the product was defective. After wearing it for a few weeks, the leather covering over the toe on the left foot, poked my foot. It began to hurt. At first I thought it was my socks, but, then I began to realize that it was the workmanship. The leather wrinkled next to the toes and the sides began to wrinkle. I tried using heavier socks but it did not help. I had to pay $24.00 extra to return the shoes. It was not worth it.

A little bit tighter fit than in the past.
The 624 fits differently than it used to. A little narrower in the toe box, a little less space in the arch. I had worn an 8.5 EE for years, with ample space. The current model is generally tighter but still comfortable. After two 30 minute sessions on the treadmill, the shoes feel fine. If I order another pair, I will probably order 4E width. Most new shoes require some 'break in' time to get used to them. In the past I could take 624s out of the box and have a perfect fit.

Reasonably priced, last a long time with normal walking, about a year walking 35-40 miles a week.
It's difficult find reasonably priced shoes of this type in a 6E width. I've had several of these and they are very comfortable.. I usually walk 35-40 miles a week on pavement and dirt trails and the shoes wear out in a little over a year. I kept a pair for just wearing around the house and normal use without all the mileage. This pair is 4 years old and is still in great shape. I would like a different tread pattern with more grip for dirt hiking trails but these will do.

Buyer Beware of this shoe
I ordered this shoe not only was it too small it fit very snug so I gave it a few weeks break in period as I usually do with all shoe orders.. Since the shoe is made in another country you cannot depend on what the seller's recommended size order is !! The shoe ended up bruising and making it bleed was bad enough that I had to make a few Dr offices visits because the toe had swollen a half size bigger too had become a medical issue and still today 4 months later it has not healed right.. I requested a return a few weeks after the order to send them back and get another style shoe that was wider because these were alot norrower and was denied a return. I than tried the Amazon a-z guarantee and was denied that ! So I ended up disputing this with my CC because it had become a medical issue. In short review your shoe sizes prior to buying, DO NOT buy from 100 Shoes they have false advertising, a lousy return policy and could not get an exchange , lied to my CC company saying I did not try to return them..BUYER Beware !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whiloe they are supposed to be exactly the same as my old shoes, THEY ARE NOT!!!
I ordered these shoes to replace the exact same pair that I purchased from New Balance Stores. However, having worn them for a couple of weeks, they seem cheaply made and very hard while my old shoes were comfortable right from the beginning. So this leads me to believe that these are FAKE NB shoes and not at all what I thought I was buying!
