I am a first time upholsterer if you are, too I give you this advice: do not even **think** about using your sewing shears for upholstery. I am doing the seats, inside and outside backs, on eight antique DR chairs. These scissors cut like a dream. I love them! You wouldn't cut steak with a butter knife, don't even think of cutting upholstery fabric with a sewing shears. Me dear departed mum also told me "use the right tool for the job." Smart woman, me mum.
