First things first. The build quality of these products is excellent. I needed an adapter for the 3/8 screw on the platypod since I film with actioncams that all have 1/4. What could be better to have an adapter with a circular bubble level when I put my platypod on uneven surface?. The antislide mat is imho more for inside but can be helpful too. The extended cord is great if you want to mount your platypod to a tree or something similar thick. Carabiner and the pouch add value even though the latter could be a bit more spacious . I find it a bit challenging to get everything back inside. The extension adapter I haven’t tried yet but I‘m sure will be useful for some folks aswell. All in all worth its money.

This is a very nice product. The silicone pad smells like mold. We have been working for over a week trying to get rid of the smell.

This review is for the platypod extreme which at the time of writing is going for $140 on Amazon. This is a very novel product. It is sturdy but yet light. Has numerous extra ports for you to insert the legs depending on your need. You can also strap it against a tree. Comes with a cabarina for you to hook it up to your belt or backpack. Has a small carrying bag for storage. It is a well conceived product. However, I think that the cardboard case with magnetic strip is an overkill. As beautiful as it is, I doubt the platypod will spend much time in the case than in your bag. If most people are like me, they will eventually loose theirs because they probably won't remember where they kept the case , since the platypod will have a permanent place in their bag and out of the case. Using a cheaper cardboard case that can be discarded will probably knock of another to $20 - $30 of the total cost. I have decided to put my case up for sell at ebay. For this I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

A few useful extra to have on hand when out and about with your platypod and camera. Price is reasonable as well.
