Let's get to the point. The card reader comes with a adapter to make it fit the new Samsung S8 . Small little peice that has a female micro usb (typical android) and a male s8 fitting. My experience with these adapters and with most chargers, is that the tighter the fit, the better the connection. Well immediately the connection on this setup, where the card viewer + adapter connects to my phone was pretty sloppy. And moving on, I also had connection issues from the very first " out of the box test run".So with that out of the way, im use to worn out chargers( the famous iPhone charger tricck) where I have to press and hold connection just right in order for it to work. So that s what I did. Haha after finding the sweet spot I began using the card reader to scroll through the infiriating amount of pictures of shadows and moving branches in hopes of spotting big foot.Tthe card reader was fast, and the secure push click feature for the card slot is nice. The app is what you expect for 'free but it does the job.I have tried a cpl other S8 phoned with the same result with the same sweet spot. I have not tried taking the adapter off and using the micro usb but I am confident it will work way better with the MAIN FLAW BEING THE ADAPTER. If Boneview wants to send me a new adapter I'll try it and edit this review. But I believe, by comparing it to 3 other adapters, that the problem is that they are very cheap and poorly made. So hopefully someone finds this helpful and fully understands that this product was a 5 star thumbs up outstanding product until Samsung decided to reinvent the friggin wheel again.

For the first 2 times I used this product I could not have been more happy. I only use it about once a week and within two weeks of owning this my SD card will not stay put in it anymore and the connection from the cord to my phone has to been held in. I would not recommend this to anyone. I'm going to try and see if there is any warranty.After contacting them about how garbage the first one was. They sent me a new one no questions asked. Very satisfied with the customer support!!!So far the new one works great

It says it's compatible with all protective phone cases. That's a lie. I have a samsung galaxy s8 with a lifeproof case. I had to grind it down a bit to make it fit in the opening. It automatically deletes the pics from my newer wildgame cameras. I used the app they say to use and followed the instructions. The only 2 cameras it will work for is my old wildgame camera and my old moultrie camera. I just bought 2 brand new wildgame cameras yesterday to try and it won't work for those either. Very disappointed, i can not find a type c reader to work with those newer cameras. By the way, they all worked fine with my old reader on my s6.

Works great! I recently ordered an OTG card reader but it would not read on my Samsung 8+ - I then ordered this one and it works great with my phone - I can see all the photos that the trail cam takes and edit them

This item is the best this that I have purchased in a very long time. It makes it so easy to download trail camera pictures from the filed into my tablet or phone, no need to carry a laptop or extra memory cards. In other words is a one-stop shop. Thanks, BoneView.

Does not work on my Samsung Galaxy Prime. Customer Support was unable to help me get going and stated they have problems with this Samsung model. Does work on my Android tablet and will use it that way although the phone would of been much more convenient. Will change to 5 star if they get the problem resolved.

Loses connection with memory card all the time. Feels cheap. Only reason I gave 2 stars is it came with the adaptor for the c-type charger
