Good = 2.4 mm line
This is good quality trim line, (for the $) same 2.4 mm size as my roll of Stihl line.And doesn't seem to snap any more frequently then Stihl.When I purchased a Stihl weed wacker years ago, also bought Stihl lineand wasn't as happy with it as I expected.So purchased Echo's 'Cross Fire' nylon line which I like much better.It's thicker diameter and unique shape has been my favorite for many years.Crossfire cost more = but cuts better and lasts longer.I'm not sure of Echo's mm but it only takes 2 twelve ft lengths to refill the Stihl head.Rather than 2 fourteen ft with Stihl and Shakespeare.So yes this is a good line for the money, but very cheap packaging.And if you're wanting a line that doesn't snap often = there are stronger strengths of line.----------------------------------Googled Jarden & found that "Yard Gear is the world’s largest supplier of trimmer line and trimmer heads'And = Shakespeare® branded trimmer accessories are found exclusively at Lowe's. good performance
Strong line that has performed well- nothing special, but it has lasted as long as other brands and cut well.

Ultra durable filament
This Ultra Cut filament from Shakespeare works great for grass trimming and edging. It's a little thick for my electric trimmer but feeds easily in my gas trimmer.I did manage to get it wound and fed into my electric trimmer and it worked really well except it wouldn't feed by bumping. I had to advance it manually. Fortunately, it's very durable and even on my large property, I only had to advance the string twice.With my gas trimmer, I had no problems at all. It gives a nice, clean cut and again, I didn't have to advance it very often. Good stuff.One star deleted because of the crappy, plastic container. It's thin and lets the filament get tangled.

What a surprise!
I have been buying the higher priced grooved consumer-grade “heavy-duty” line for about four years. I feel a bit foolish now that I’ve had a chance to try out this comparatively inexpensive pro-grade Shakespeare line.Due to this smooth line not having the heavy-duty looking ridges that I’ve been paying a pretty premium for, I expected this smooth line to disintegrate on contact with my oh-so-rugged residential St. Augustine grass. To my surprise, I only had to bump out additional line once while trimming my entire property; compared to at least three bumps while using the supposedly heavy duty line! In other words, I fell victim to the gimmick.What I did learn is that, because this line is a bit heavier, and apparently more flexible, than the overpriced garbage I was using before, it is important to pay attention to how much line is out. The first time I spooled this line, I left the amount of excess line I was accustomed to out – expecting the line cutter on the trimmer guard to take care of it – and nearly ripped the head of my trimmer off. This line is tough, so it takes more than a couple of passes over the line trimmer to take care of the excess.The line works great! But I believe that it might be a bit heavy for an electric trimmer. I’ve got a 4 cycle 30cc trimmer, and I can tell that it has a harder time getting the line up to speed than the consumer grade line I was using before. Based on the value compared to performance, it might be worth it to give it a shot anyway.Highly recommended for strength and value!

It performs better than all my other lines that I have been ...
With all the X, Triangle, and grooved lines out on the market, I didn't think that this old style round line would be that impressive. I was wrong. It performs better than all my other lines that I have been using. It hardly ever breaks and spools out of my Stihl bump feed head every time. It does fray easily and it takes on woody stems like nobody's business. Who knew.The 280' of line ought to easily last about 1.5 to 2 years for my 1 acre property. I used to buy larger spools but soon found out that as trimmer line ages it tends to become more brittle and loses performance. Now I prefer to buy small packs like this. Fresh line makes a big difference. This is my first experience with Shakespeare as far as I know and I will be looking into their other lines as well. Good stuff.

Sturdy tough line but cheap packaging
This is a sturdy thick roll of trimmer line, a little too thick for my battery Black and Decker trimmer. I did get it onto the spool but I have to manual feed it out which is not a huge problem, this is strong stuff and cuts through grass really well. I don't like the thin plastic container that it comes in. It's a hassle to get it out and thread it onto the spool, getting twisted and unwinds on you. It is a bit expensive but should last a while.

Impressive performance for a relatively thin (0.093 inch diameter) line
I use a fixed line head on my trimmer which accepts pretty much any diameter line, so I usually use very thick line. This is much thinner than my usual line (it measures to 0.093 inches in diameter) but performs as well, if not better, than thicker line.The thinner profile does a great job cutting open areas – it cuts quicker than thick line and is not as prone to getting tangled in heavy growth areas. But what was surprising is how well it performs edging. Usually thick line is needed since it wears better than thin line when hitting a hard surface, but this line really holds its own when edging.Cuts well and lasts a decent amount of time when edging. Very pleased!

High Quality Replacement Trimmer Line
This is a high quality replacement line. It worked with a standard B&D trimmer that I had on hand. The line is visibly thicker than the other replacement line I was using to reload the trimmer. It also seemed to last just a little bit longer before having to be replaced.My application is only grass edging so those who use their trimmers for heavy duty clearing may get even more benefits out of this replacement line. So far I am very satisfied with the performance of this line. I think it will be quite a long time before I use the entire spool.
