Let me just start by saying I bought this for a Halloween prop, not a disco ball. It worked as described, I just thought it have had a bit more torque. I didn't use it for that reason, however I imagine it would be fine with a disco ball, and FYI if you over load the torque it will just switch directions on you.

Perfect! Just as advertised. I thought the speed was perfect for our Disco Dance Party. The only drawback is it is designed to be screwed to a board. Not suspended.
