I highly recommend this pencil, very well designed and made. I read about problems with the sharpener in one review, however the sharpener on mine works well. The holder fits into the top pocket of my work vest, keeping the sharpener in holder handy, pencil easily slides into and out of holder. For carpentry it ticks all the boxes, and if fitting dark material, comes with yellow leads. I did expect to use the leads quickly, as I use approx 1 carpenters pencil per week, first lead still going strong, no waste when sharpening, and pencil stays the same length, so no snub end pencils to fiddle with. You will not regret buying one of these

If you use the supplied yellow crayon/waxIt can melt with pocket heat and ruin the pencil.

Best pencil I ever bought, never again will people steal this pencil, it stays on my side, other site workers can borrow my other carpenters pencils until the run out... then they can buy their own, love it.

great pencil for site work, marking concrete, stone etc., but the poor sharpener is the one element that really lets it down. I've tightened up the blade with a precision driver and it is still very inadequate.

Stopped working, seems to be gunked up and rusty inside, it won’t accept the graphite or click it out, I do hold it between my teeth between marking cuts, and I did notice water/spit inside. Would have thought for the price the manufacturer would have used stainless steel/ rust proof innards!Also, as I have it in my right pocket, have broken the holder twice on my seatbelt.

It's a great product and it works as stated, the sharpener on the clip for the pencil is great. It's good until you drop it. If you're a tradesman you'll no doubt drop it now and then, or put it down too heavy handed - the lead inside shatters quite easy and once it breaks it cant be sharpened until you empty out the broken bits of the lead till it reaches the lead that's.... internally gripped? I'd say I've had to throw more lead than I've actually gone through by marking. other than that it's great. For the lead not to rotate as you sharpen it it must be under some sort of grip inside. Maybe if this grip thing was at the bottom just before where the lead is exposed you'd save a lot of lead

What a great unique idea. I have had plenty of jobs, where a carpenters pencil or even a normal pencil can not go through an item, to mark where to drill. Well not with this, its pencil lead is nice and dark, and if you are marking a dark item, there is a yellow lead to help out.It all fits nice lily in a protective pocket clip, and works well.

Bought this item had it in my pocket , went to use it for the first time and the retainer clip broke removing it from the sheath 😡 the plastic is really brittle / fragile can’t say I’m overly impressed or happy with this product ,, now I have a broken retainer clip itl fall out of the sheath al the time ,,, not likely to ever use the spare leads never mind the extra packet I bought ,,,,,, will be buying festool again next time
