Good Connections. Very Difficult to put assemble.
The connections themselves are solid. But these are a HUGE pain to solder, and even more of a pain to install into the connector. The pins themselves took the solder pretty well, but getting the wire into them nicely and getting a good solder fill was a little time-consuming and difficult to do. I also wish the solder cups themselves were a bit deeper. There is about 1/8" of cup that a 10awg wire can fit into, allowing more wire to fit into the cup would have made for an easier time soldering I think. I had to have my fiance hold the wires in place while I applied the iron and the solder around the pin.I wish the connector housings themselves had some more tolerance on the rear side, the pins are nearly exact fit and have a bunch of friction going in. To solve this, here was what I found: Once you let your solder join cool off, insert the pin into the connector, reheat the pin exterior (be careful not to remelt the solder) and then push into the housing. This was the easiest way I found to get the pins into their housings.I also don't like that the pins themselves are only usable once, because you would have to destroy the connector housing to remove them. But I doubt that will come into play for me, so its kinda whatever, and not factoring into my review (despite me having 2 unusable DEV connectors because of this - they were my test connectors.)Despite all the difficulty I had installing them, I think I have a better connection for my batteries than I did with my Deans Connectors, and I'm more confident now, especially when my Mamba Monster X says I pulled 60A no problem (which is the upper limit of the Deans connector according to various websites). With this kit I was able to create a Parrallel cable, a Series Cable, hook up 1 battery, and 2 ESCs, create Deans-EC5 adapters (both ways), and make my parallel charging board compatible. I still have 6 battery-side connectors as well. All-in-all, if you are able to do the work, this kit could save you money on adapter cables and leave you spare connectors.

Very good connectors!
I made a telemetry setup with these for my RC10. If you know what you're doing and how to solder you'll love these. You can use a paper and alligator clips as an extra set of hands. Pre-solder your wire to be connected then, as long as they're facing down solder flows very well, fills the pool, and makes a great connection. Back with heat shrink and they're not going anywhere! In 12 guage wire you're making an excellent connection delivering full potential to your esc! You could easily use larger wire too. Love these!

Hard pass! Used better. Get the HRB, or use the right tool
Complete crap. I got em to work by hollowing out the nylon connector it worked bo no good snap. Save your time and get the hrb ones.Alright i can admit when im wrong. Its all about the right tool for the right job. The hrb connectors allowed me to insert the bullets with little effort with a screw driver. But these were not impressed with my tecnique. I picked ip a ec5 punch to try them again an to my surprise after a whack or 2 with the side of my pliers the connectors snapped in with a snuggness that wont ever pull out. 4 stars as you really need the tool to get em in there.

Rear entry assembly, the best type for me!
I didn't realize that these EC type connectors are not a strict standard as far as assembly is concerned. You need to look at the gold connectors to see the direction of the "ramp" on the locking lip. Some require you to pull the wire thru the housing first, solder on the connector, then pull the connector into the housing (which can be very difficult with these large connectors!). This brand has a nice ramp on the lip and they press in from the rear. I purchased an insertion tool from ProgressiveRC, it's a custom stainless steel "Punch" that allows a light tap with a hammer to set the connector safely. Progressive makes EC5 and EC3 tools and they are inexpensive! Now I can easily make up these heavy duty connectors in minutes, very happy!

Barrel outsides MUST be free of solder
For those that are having issues about fitment, at first I had the same issue. What I noticed is that the tolerances are extremely tight (I think that's a good thing) and ANY solder on the outside of the barrel will prevent it from being seated all the way in the plastic housing. After I got the tiny bit of solder I had on the first barrel I did off, one or two taps with a hammer is all it takes to get these things in.I used these to convert some Zeee lipo batteries from the Deans connector to EC5 for my Arrma rigs. Much better after. Good product, will continue to buy.

Good idea to separate them into 2 ziplock bags
These seem to be very high quality. I got them for my Pulse 2600 which uses 10 awg wire.Make sure sure you mate the correct connector with the correct pins. There's some small print in about the middle that says either "Batt" (Battery), or "Dev" (Device). The female plugs go with the "Batt" connector. Good idea to separate them into 2 ziplock bags. After soldering, you want to insert the pin from behind into the connector, then tap the edge of the pin with a flat head screwdriver and hammer. Some other brands go in the opposite way where you have to insert the lead first, then solder, and then press it thru the front, but not this brand. They inserted very well, unlike some others I've worked with which take an act of God to get in.Thanks for the great product Apex.

I had no problem soldering and inserting the pins into ...
I had no problem soldering and inserting the pins into the connector. I used a small flat blade screw driver on the rim of the pin being inserted and taped down on screw driver will a small hammer. It only took one tap for each insert. The connectors mated as designed flawless. I used them on my 6S 5000 Mah+ Lipo batteries and ESC to fly my Trex 550. So far I have used the EC5 in ten flights, more to come no power lag. The connectors are over kill for the Trex 550 application but I plan on using in 12S application when I move to Trex 700. When I need more I plan to buy the Apex again. I received my second order!
