Excellent quality and service
This is the first item I've ordered for international shipment and it won't be the last. To the item itself, it's exactly right. The birch color is neutral and the weight is perfect for a warm climate. Texture is interesting, and size generous, so it's well worth the money. In fact, I like it so well I'm ordering one in red for another bed. I got update emails from DHL and they delivered right on time. This would have taken up half a suitcase, so worth the extra money for shipping - plus it arrived in four days, much shorter than advertised.

King Charles Matelasse King Bedspread, Ivory
Our King Charles Matelasse King Bedspread arrived today. I have searched for a bedspread here in Western Australia which would cover our new pillow top king size bed to no avail. Bedspreads are no longer a popular item here with most people opting for doonas. I am therefore delighted with our purchase and thrilled that it fits the bed perfectly. The product states the width as 118inches however the packaging reads 114inches, nontheless it's a great fit. The length gives plenty of room for two pillows each side to fit under. The quality seems excellent and the colour a true ivory. I read the reviews regarding shrinking but cannot comment yet, however being in Australia I will use a clothesline to dry as opposed to a dryer and a cold water wash. It may make a difference. Either way am very pleased with my elegant bedspread and the prompt delivery from Amazon.THREE WEEKS LATER: I have now washed this item, (cold water wash in the machine and then dried in the sun on the clothesline). I can report no shrinkage and the bedspread looks wonderful.Very easy to wash.I therefore thoroughly recommend this item and in fact will purchase another for our guest room. Hope this helps other buyers.

Attractive spread, but the shrinkage is worth consideration.
This is an attractive Matelassé spread, but I have a few cautions for any other buyer.Look at photos of the spread on other sites which actually show the bedspread on a bed. The color is an attractive light ivory . There is a lovely design around the three sides of the bedspread. The top of the spread, all the way to the top hem, is covered with a quilted small diamond pattern. This may actually work well for you if you are trying to coordinate with existing matelassé designed pillows or shams. As other reviews noted, the package dimensions listed the size as 114"x 120", not 118"x120" as described. I measured the spread before washing it and it measured roughly 117" x 117.5" We have a standard Sleep Number bed and this spread was ~ 3 " to 3.5" inches from the floor on the sides . It covered the pillows and was slightly longer at the bottom than the sides. After following the package directions and washing in cold water on the gentle cycle then drying it on low, the bed spread measured 112" on the sides. It was now about 6 1/2 " inches from the floor on both sides and 4" from the floor at the foot. This will just barely cover the bottom edge of the bed frame. I am disappointed, but did not grade the bedspread lower as I can always use a bed skirt from a former coverlet. My disappointment is this is not the look I would like when I choose a bedspread rather than a coverlet. There are no larger options available, and you can't try sizing up as you can when using the king size on a queen size bed.

Beautiful bedspread
Absolutely delighted with this bedspread, it is exactly what I was looking for.The quality of the bedspread is excellent and it looks beautiful on the bed. The feel is soft like a cotton blanket, and not scratchy or stiff like some quilted coverlets can be. The weight is a little heavier than a 4 season cotton blanket but not as heavy as a down alternative comforter. We can sleep under just this and a sheet with the thermostat set at 65 but will probably add a blanket under it for winter.I would give the item 5 stars except for the size. Amazon's dimensions listed for bedspread are 114 inches wide and for coverlet is 96 inches wide, but what was sent to me is 104 inches wide and does not reach the floor on both sides. The packaging that came with the bedspread shows 114 inch width but that's not what's inside. It still looks great on the bed, it's just not what you expect for something labelled "bedspread". So I ordered the matching bedskirt to go with it.My king bed is not a pillow top but is extra deep, and the bedspread reaches to a couple inches below the top of the bedskirt on both sides, which is more like what you'd expect for something labelled "coverlet" instead of "bedspread". However, it is plenty long enough to tuck over the pillows at the head and still reach to the floor on the foot of the bed, which does make it more like a "bedspread". The edge design woven into the fabric, as shown in the bed photos on amazon, on my bed falls on the top instead of the side, about 3 inches from the actual mattress edge, but along the foot it's about 2 inches down the vertical side.My advice is look at the measurements before ordering, and expect the item you buy to be smaller than the listed size. I have not washed the bedspread so can't address how it holds up to laundering.I bought this King Charles Matelasse "sunshine" color bedspread with a little trepidation, because there is a large color difference in the photos depending on which item (pillow, sham, coverlet) you are looking at. So I will clear this up for future buyers. The color of the "sunshine" items is shown on some pages as dark or lemony yellow, but the item I received is a lovely pale, somewhat dusty yellow, leaning toward buttercream, which is precisely what I wanted. If you want bright yellow, this is not for you. I wouldn't quite call the color buttercream, because in my mind buttercream is paler than this and closer to a dark ivory than this color is. I also wouldn't call it tan or gold or even pale gold, there's just not that much brown in it. Think "easter pastel" yellow maybe. I am pairing it with ivory linens and embroidered ivory/gold sheer curtains for a light, breezy spring look against tan walls and oak wood blinds.

Not happy with this bedspread
EDIT: this fell apart within 6 months of normal use :'(This took the full 9 days to arrive, and when it did I immediately washed it for use. I believe it shrank a little on the sides because it hangs a good 4 inches from the ground on either side of the bed. It is very long tho which is nice because I can fold it back and over my pillows. It could be too short on the sides because I have a thick mattress but I have a low-profile box spring which I thought would cancel that out.the color is a very nice deep red, and the standard shams I bought with this match perfectly. the material is really nice: super soft with a good weight. It is finished well and drapes on the bed nicely. I am very happy with this purchase.
