Q: Would it be suitable to used as a carry-on on a plane? does it have handles for travel and does it hold up well?

I don't think it would there are no clips or anything to allow you to follow it up well and its really light material. I have my pant suit in it from our sons wedding so its just hanging in my closet. I wouldn't buy this one to use to travel on a plane. You have to have a hanger with it and I doubt they'd let you carryon a hanger

No it has an opening for your own hanger.

Seems to be a breathable fabric. Similar to a mesh. Not plastic. Happy with it.
