Great for adults or children. Lesson about not worrying so much and enjoying the journey.

Beautiful and simple
This book is as much for adults as children. We spend our life trying to stay happy and present and then one day our fears overwhelm us. Just like the raindrop we fear so much that we forget that it is the ride that matters. I read it in a training to teachers and they liked it as much as my teenagers I presented it to.

A journey
What a great gift for graduation or retirement or just to recognize a change. Who does love a good analogy!

Good for a 6 year old
My grandson had to have the book read to him but remembered it. All about clouds and rain. Only 37 pages long so kepthis attention. He's had it read seven times so a winner.

Great intro to water cycle unit, many extension opportunities
The water cycle can be a boring topic to learn about, and there aren't a whole lot of fiction books on the subject out there. But this one was a great way to start the unit. It was very simple and made a raindrop a character to relate to in a memorable story. We will refer back to that while reading the drier, wordier, nonfiction books ("Remember when the drop turned to steam after landing in the fire?"). I read the book twice in a row to demonstrate how the cycle starts over again, even though it ended with the drop rising up and knowing it would soon be part of a cloud again. I would have liked it if the drop actually did join others in a cloud and the book ended with a new fall. This is a great opportunity for students to write a sequel, starting and ending with the cloud. All "chapters" could be put together, creating a class book of the drop's adventures in the water cycle.I hadn't even noticed the deeper meaning behind the book, about taking life in stride and learning to enjoy it, until I read other reviews. Now I like this book even more!

Wonderful and simple story
A sweet story dealing with concepts of loss and change in a simple way. The reader can choose to elaborate on these themes, talk about the rain cycle or simply let the story speak for itsself.

This in an amazing book! It teaches about courage
This in an amazing book! It teaches about courage, faith and second chances using the water cycle as a metaphor. As an educator I have used this to show the water cycle to second grade students. We touch on the other themes too. I have also read this to much older children (4th, 5th grade) and had some deep conversation about what it means to turn fear into courage and to have faith in life's journey so you don't allow fearful thoughts to rob you of the joy in each present moment.
