Great product but inaccurate estimate for battery life
Quick take: buy these if you're looking for battery powered LED lights w/ a timer.Well executed product, bought 3 more after receiving and inspecting the first. The wire is easily formed into just about any shape desired and stiff enough to maintain that shape on it's own if needed. With new batteries, the lights are bright and clear. Due to how each LED is encased in an individual glass form, it gives a reflective characteristics that results in a shimmer or flickering effect. Certainly not a warm white light - not offensive, just not "warm". Battery compartment is well designed and easy to use. After 2 weeks exposed to the elements, no evidence of failure or water in the battery casing.Knocking a star off for advertised battery life when using timer mode. YMMV, but we installed them for an exterior application in colder temperatures. Installed brand new Energizer batteries in all 4 sets, and while there may be some juice left after 14 days, the lights become so dim that you really can't see them. I estimate about 7 days of full brightness and then they begin to dim noticeably. 10 days of use is a more reasonable expectation and certainly a good candidate for rechargeable batteries considering the required replacement schedule.Still a fantastic product and a fair value. We fully expect to get a few seasons out of them, possibly more.

Cool lights, but eats batteries like termites in a lumber yard
PRO: Very bright itsy bitsy little lights! Wire strand is great for decorating - light strand can be "posed" very easily. Warm white color is very reminiscent of incandescent bulb color. Battery pack is smaller than a deck of cards, but a little thicker, and not too heavy even with AA batteries so it's easy to conceal. The whole light strand is very light weight making it easy to add to decor.CON: This is a huge CON - these lights chew through batteries! I used these lights - both the 30 light strands and the 60 light strands - for Christmas decorating indoors. I found that using the timer function obliterated batteries in less than 3 days. So by the third day I had to get on a ladder and change the batteries. Thankfully I also purchased brand new Panasonic eneloop rechargeable batteries - so these batteries had maximum life and charging capacity. Nonetheless, my decor goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving and stays up until New Years. That's an awful lot of battery changes. While the LED bulbs don't use much energy, the timer seems to need a boost in efficiency. Really disappointed because the lights are lovely and easy to work with and so inexpensive. But I gave up on constantly changing my batteries which means now I don't have light where there are lights and I can't say I intend to use these lights again. If these are needed for just one event - like a wedding or dinner party and so the timer function isn't critical to decorating needs I'm sure the user would be much happier than me. For Christmas decorating, however, these are a no go again for me.

It's a good deal. No significant problems.
It works pretty much as advertised (see website comment below), and the low price helps overcome an awkward design element that otherwise would earn the product fewer stars: the hinges and latches on that box are waaaay larger than they need to be. Although they do work, they're clunky and hard to open. Not great product design. The wire is real silvery wire--not the nice plastic-coated stuff that comes on, say, a string of Christmas lights. It's quite unruly. Like, sproing! The control box is smaller than I'd imagined it might be: 3" x 2 3/4" x 13/16". I like that.As yet, I have no experience with battery life.By the way, the Amazon website directions say press once for timer option, twice for constant on, thrice for off. Well, the set I received takes one press for constant on, two for off, and thrice just turns it on and right off again. Actually, I prefer it this way over what it says on the Amazon site. Also, turning it on or off makes quite a loud click. Probably not an issue for most users, but my usage is in a stage play, and a loud click is a minor drawback.Bottom line: it works fine, and the price is lower than I imagined I'd have to pay.

have been perfect! I wrapped them around a hanger and hung ...
I actually purchased these lights for an unusual purpose: to get my backyard flock of hens to go into their new coop at night. It is true that chickens "go back to roost" at night, but my free range ladies didn't seem to want to sleep in the new coop I built - even in the rain! I know from experience that they will basically follow the light as the sun goes down, and decided I needed to light up my little coop. Unfortunately, with no power outlet available in the backyard and with little desire to run a long extension cord, I searched for battery powered lights with a timer. My selection was surprisingly limited! These lights, however, have been perfect! I wrapped them around a hanger and hung them up in the coop and set them to turn on at 6:00 PM every day, happy with the knowledge that they wouldn't stay on all night long. It worked like a charm! The lights are very bright and one set of batteries lasted about two weeks. After the first week, I could tell the brightness was diminishing, but not badly. Overall, I am very pleased with these.

Good, sturdy yet delicate lights
LOVE these little lights. I've only used them this one Christmas season, but they performed stellarly and stored well, too. The light is a little less warm than I expected, but they look really nice anyway. I used them on two large magnolia wreaths on driveway gates, and on the smaller wreath on the front door. They were a little hard to arrange symmetrically, but the lights looked just fine.I can't say how long they would last on one set of batteries, since I didn't get the wreaths up until the 19th, and I took them down before New Year's (as any good Southerner does), but the timer feature surely would make them last quite a while.I always put the battery box into a ziplock bag, since a rain and wind storm is assured the minute I assemble and hang the gate wreaths. The battery box on these lights is really sturdy and seems like I might not need the baggie even in a rainstorm.

I would recommend you buy long string since these are bit
It's a little bit short but the timer works really well. We put two string lights on our small shrub outside and it's still working even after numerous days and nights of rain. I would recommend you buy long string since these are bit short

Poor quality
Set of lights shorted out after very little use. At any time were they on for an extended period of time. Very disappointed in this product.
