Sambo and Systema: Russia's Prominent Martial Arts

Here's a book that 'introduced' me to Systema, and removed the veil of misunderstanding. Sometimes that's what it takes. What I love are the writings of Kevin Secours here. I think they were culled form other sources, but at least it's all in one place, and easier to grab hold of. Kevin has demonstrated to my satisfaction that's he's not about smoke and mirrors, yet firmly grounded in providing a good education as a result of immersing himself in the arts. What comes out has been well-planned for his audience. Thank you Kevin!

The book isn't comprehensive by any means. It consists of a number of articles from martial arts magazines which give a general overview of techniques employed, and there are pictures (which is more than most books on systema that ive purchased in the past). It's worth a breeze through and a shelf reference or pass along to a friend.

This is an excellent book. Its an easy read. Its a collection of articles that have been in Martial Arts Journals. If you wan to know about some of the history of the development of Sambo and Systema, this is worth the purchase price. This is not a marital arts instructional manual in anyway. This is purely for the academic and the historical enthusiast.

An excellent read that explains both Systema and SAMBO, their differences and similarities. It articulates some key principles of both martial arts. Things to know about Systema as well as SAMBO and how they are truly unique.

Der Sinn des Buches erschließt sich mir nicht.Beim Thema Systema ist man mit Vasiliev und Komarov an der richtigen Adresse mit Büchern.Sambo weiß ich nicht.Auf jeden Fall ist das Buch(eher Heftchen) sowohl bei Interesse für Systema,als auch für Sambo absolut entbehrlich.
