People talk about media and others expensive brand,but this bio balls are game changer,always my favorite.keep my tank healthy and cycled.I would use this media over any other brand out there.my all time favorite.

Great size

As the title says, they float. So if you keep them in on top of the filter, some portion will be up out of the water. Perhaps buoyancy is not the best characteristic for something that's intended to be a home for aquatic bacteria.

We built a waterfall and 50 foot long stream last summer. Once the Algae took hold, it was horrible! The entire water feature turned into a long, ugly, string of green algae. We were able to use various algae killer chemicals but after a few days, the algae would return. It was a never ending cycle. So, tried these bio balls and placed them in the spillway of the waterfall and viola! No more algae, none, gone - AWESOME!

Its says 1", and they are... but I think I like the larger ones better. these are working fine. had to buy a bag separately and they do need a bag. Love them though, great addition to filtering.

I had to return them because they were too big for my filter. However, they did arrive on time and the bag was a nice size for the price.
