It arrived with a split in one of its shelves, and various pieces of unfinished bamboo sticking out, as well as some dents and uneven/unsanded sections. The shelves are not uniformly smooth (wear gloves to avoid splinters). The only positive is it took 20 minutes to set up on my own (only 18 screws) and when it is set up and the damaged shelf was reinforced with duct tape underneath the shelf (hidden), it looks decent and does what it's supposed to. However, it is not sturdy and will tip over easily -- I would NOT get this if you have toddlers.For 20 more bux you can get a wood shelf of the same size with better quality from target. I wanted to save money and I wish I hadn't, and I also didnt want to deal wtih returning it because it wasnt worth the hassle.

I definitely recommend this product for the price. It was relatively easy to assemble, especially as you get started and it includes all materials and tools necessary to assemble. It probably took me about 45 minutes to put it together. Once together, this bookshelf is sturdy and stable and holds a good amount of books! I am currently using it to hold two shelves worth of books and some decorations at the top and it is holding up great. It goes well with the lighter wood flooring in my apartment and the shelves are able to be adjusted to different heights so I was able to make the bottom two large enough to hold even my bigger hardcover books. Definitely good for anyone looking for a small bookshelf!

The shelf is as pictured and adorable but it smells terrible!! I was hoping because it was bamboo that it would be a safe product since I have chemical sensitivity. By the time I was finished putting it together I had heart palpitations. Even if you aren't chemically sensitive, be aware that it does smell and I would recommend letting it off gas in the garage or outside before putting it in the house.

This little bookshelf arrived fairly quickly, was easy to assemble, is wood (not pressboard) and looks cute enough. We left ours natural because it matches the trim in my son's room but you could easily paint it if you wanted a different look. It's a sturdy, affordable little shelf.We ordered it because my son needed a place to keep all his online school materials (microscope, books, lab supplies, binders, pens, etc) for the great 2020 nightmare of school being totally at home.Keeping a shelf that is dedicated to school as opposed to letting school and pleasure reading, toys, etc mingle together has helped keep us all organized.If you also find yourself now running a school at home, I highly recommend this shelf as a perfect size to dedicate to school only. It will help you and your child stay focused and save time. We organized it well and put a plant on the top. It looks good in his room and keeping the space de-cluttered helps the psyche. Lovely and great for the price. The only thing is that one of the shelves came without one hole to put the screw in, so when I tried to force it in, it cracked the board. I contacted the seller and hopefully can get a replacement, but overall I’m super happy with it.
