Planet Audio P10AW Amplified Car Subwoofer - 1000 Watts, Low Profile, 10 Inch Subwoofer, Remote Subwoofer Control, Great for Vehicles That Need Bass But Have Limited Space

I first installed this I'm my truck, I thought I'd get a bit more bass out of my music, to be fair my truck already had a Bose system, so unfortunately it didn't work out. I did have the intention to install this in my commuter which only has a simple factory 4 speaker system. So I did just that and what a difference. This is a lower budget speaker and for what it cost it's a great deal, this puts out equivalent bass to my truck, the quality isn't there as far as clear bass but for overall I definitely recommend. The key was to get a bit more base without having to dump $$$ on a system. I'm definitely happy about my car now, makes my commutes more enjoyable.

Does what it's supposed to do: adds a little extra Bass to the total overall sound while not occupying too much space.FYI, while running at full strength, I measured about 5-7Amps at 12V. I connected it to the same power wires that feed into my radio which has a 10A fuse. Running my radio + woofer at full blast did not blow the fuse. So connecting the dedicated thick wires from the car battery is too much hassle and pointless. This tiny little thing does not draw too much power.As a side note, I have a 2015 Subaru WRX where they sell separately a Kicker subwoofer. The official cable harness for that factory subwoofer connects to the same power cable that feeds into the stock radio. So I did the same procedure with this one.The build is pretty sturdy: closed metallic aluminum casing.It does not have a bass reflex hole - which could have generated a louder sound.I had to connect it to my existing speaker wires, as my radio does not have a separate SW out.The bad part: running the radio at medium volume, you can hear this SW quite loudly. Sometimes too loud for the current volume. However, when increasing the volume on the radio, the subwoofer power does not increase with it too much. It falls behind. So at loud volumes, the subwoofer feels too weak. And again at low volumes, the woofer is too loud and annoying. You would need to constantly adjust the separate SW volume level as well at different volumes - which is inconvenient, especially while having to drive.Because it does not increase its volume too much at high levels, it does not distort the sound - so that is a good thing.Overall I am 70% happy with the acquisition, especially because I did not want to pay $500 for the factory woofer or lose trunk space with a regular tube one.

Got this for my daughter's Kia soul and it fitted perfectly under the driver's seat. Almost like custom-made as it sits perfectly on the floor's notch so it does not move at all. The sound quality is great as it powers those lows on the stock radio without spending lots of money. Planet audio provided a quality product as described.

This is a great sun for limited space. If you are looking to add a little bass and some bump than sounds like this is for you. If you’re looking to annoy the neighbors with your k rap music, steer clear, this isn’t a double 12” sub. Most truck suv and small car owners will find the way it enhances their upgraded factory system. Install parts are not what I would consider top of the line but they are a throw in at a price point. Install should be left to professionals as next gen airbags have advanced sensors under seat and improper wiring can lead to a host of issues. Enjoy! If it stops satisfying I will definitely update…

Not impressed at all! Actually disappointed as he'll! Paid professional to install and the first words out of his mouth when he handed my keys was "it's not very loud". Im so bummed with this purchase and would send it back if I had known before installing. Save your money and go with something else. I based my decision to purchase on the excellent reviews given. I'm not impressed!

I was looking for a little punch on my music for my F150 crew cab, I gave this sub-amp the chance because I have other planet audio amplifiers and they are really good and this one wow, didn't disapoint, I was not expecting such of great sound out of it and for the price... just wow. easy to install, fits under 1 of the rear captain seats and comes with everything you need.

If your expecting 12” sub bass , go with something else….but this sub makes your standard stereo sound like an upgraded stereo…..my vehicle came with a quality stereo, but I opted out for the bass model…with this sub it sounds just as good as the top of the line version….also it’s very small, so you can mount it in a hidden place. And still have a full trunk space….which was important to me….ive been an audiophile for over 34 years now….ive had competition systems…this is not that…but what it does is fill your stock system with just enough bass to fill the sound in……..I found it great for under my seat…..I might order one more to get a better sound……2 of these are comparable to a sealed and ported single 8”…..driven by a 300.1 mono amp……of good quality…..
