I think, it shows us how we maybe awake to each other, connecting as spirits and free souls. During a time where women were depicted as sitting beside bird cages in paintings, to symbolize their entrapment, Jane resists.Mr. Rochester says:"Jane, be still; don't struggle so, like a wild frantic bird that is rending its own plumage in its desperation."And Jane replies:"I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will; which I now exert to leave you."The size of the sterling silver disc is 1" (2.5 cm).The jump ring is welded for extra security.The pendant comes with your choice of chain and charm.At additional cost of USD 15.00 the backside can be engraved with another short text, names, dates or whatever comes to your mind and what fits on the plate.PLEASE NOTE, that the images show a darkened engraving to make the writing more visible. However in new jewellery the engraving is natural (silver color).
