Very thorough. One out of a few!
You need to concentrate reading through the book, because each line overflown is a miss out in learning and understanding. The Author's ability to connect and explain is brilliant and even amusing to read at times. It was a suggestion by a friend and the price for what you get is incredible. The price does not reflect content!

Deep insights in horse behavior and their relationship with us.
Excellent book! I recommend it to anyone who likes horses. The author puts the relationship between horses and humans a the central argument of the book. Through a thoughtful and rational guiding line the reader is lead to a better understanding of how did we get to modern day horsemanship. It is very clear to me that all outstanding horse trainers have a thorough knowledge of the essential nature of horses and then base their methodologies onto that. In this aspect, this book is invaluable and surely will help any trainer to improve. If you are looking for 'ready to go' formulas and tips, this is not the book for you.

A leg at each corner
This is not a glamorous glossy coffee table book....it is a straightforward nuts and bolts how horses work and think. No arty photos of horses galloping along sea shores, no hazy sunsets and flowing manes.....think anatomical sketches, graphs comparing gait strides/relative speed and evolutionary charts. The text requires a modicum of scientific understanding and of course a love of horses. I think this book was suggested reading by horse trainer Warwick Schiller, so that is recommendation enough for me.
