Q: how many inches is the bottom of the door to the flap. I have two pugs that must be able to easily get out of as well as a pit bull

Hi Donna - There is four and one half inches from the floor to the bottom of the flap. We were worried about that, too, since we have two Chihuahuas along with an Italian Greyhound mix and now our new rescue, Belgian Malinois (will be very big). There was NO problem at all! We put the door in and they all went through it! It's a great door. We are very happy!

Q: What size is the opening in the flap for the XL? i have an english bulldog and want to know if he will fit.

Thomas, thank you for your question! The flap opening for the Large and the Large-Tall are the same at approximately 10 1/4" x 16 3/8". The difference is the rise (the space from the bottom of the patio panel to the flap). The large has a 4 1/4" rise and the Large-Tall has a 8 1/4" rise. This is beneficial for long legged breeds so that they do not have to try and lower their bodies each time they enter and exit your home.

Thanks for your question, Lauretta! While you will be unable to use your existing sliding glass door's lock, the Patio Panels come with a rotary lock kit which comes in two parts. One part is attached to the Patio Panel and the other to your existing sliding glass door. This rotary lock will then act as the primary lock on your sliding glass door.
